It is located kind of between Tavares and Leesburg. It is probably actually in one or the other. I'm not sure where one town ends and the other one starts.

Skip, are they temporarily closed or permanently? Maybe the new owners want to refurbish the place and then reopen. I'm hopin'!!
Hey, I know you have the inside scoop on restaurants, do you know when the new owners of Hacienda will be taking over??
Thanks in advance, Kath

They are still open, at least they were when we went by there about a week ago. Noticed the new sign and the parking lot was full.

It’s on 441 about 3 miles east of the Leesburg airport. There is a channel that runs between Lake Eustis and Lake Harris and under 441 called the Dead River and it’s right there. It can be reached by land or by the river so it’s popular with boaters.

Are they keeping the same kind of menue and the name or a whole new thing moving into town.

mac9 08-06-2011 11:05 PM

We were there today. They are still in the process of renovating. The menu is only slightly different. Many of the old favorites are still on it. Bar is being revamped. They had nothing on draught today, but will so in the near future.

Could never figure how the word draught was pronounced draft.

Wikipedia:

Draught beer (Draft beer in U.S.) is beer served from a cask or a pressurised keg.

Until Joseph Bramah patented the beer engine in 1785, beer was served directly from the cask and carried to the customer. The Old English word for carry was dragen which developed into a series of related words, including drag, draw, and draught. By extension, the word for carrying or drawing a beer came to mean the serving of the beer and, in some senses, the act of drinking, or a drink of beer itself, regardless of serving method. By the time Bramah's beer pumps became popular, the use of the word draught to mean the act of serving beer was well established and transferred easily to beer served via the hand pumps.

Hope the new owners improve the food. The one meal I had there was lousy.

Carla B 08-10-2011 09:29 PM

The food wasn't the greatest but the little alligators were fun to watch.
