Difference between Philly Cheesesteak and Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie is the inclusion of Hoagie stuff on the Cheesesteak and both are provided at Geno's, Pats and maybe Jim's.

Then when I moved back home to Connecticut we had D'Angelo's, and that was how they made THEIR steak and cheese subs - except their default was american cheese. When I lived in Canada, there was a little sandwich shop in Sorrell I visited several times. Their steak-bombs always had lettuce, tomato, and mayo. New York subs - lettuce, tomato, mayo. Philly cheese-steak "hoagie" (which is another word for sub roll) - lettuce, mayo, tomato. The original Philly cheese-steak is only attractive to people who want ONLY steak, cheese, and grilled onions dumped on a roll. For the rest of civilization, we get to include some vegetables with our meat. YMMV But yes I USUALLY go to Gator's for their boneless wings. I only order 6 but they always give me an extra or two. With blue cheese dressing, naturally. And the Gator's Own hot sauce of course. Not as good as Archie Moore's in Connecticut (you can buy their wing sauce in the supermarket up there now), but still tasty. |

The only place I know of where you CANNOT get something with stuff added to it, is Louis Lunch in New Haven. Home of the very first hamburger in the USA, and they're still in business. They grind their own blend of beef fresh daily and are only open for lunch. They use cast-iron vertical grills, and they come only on toasted white bread. You can get it with or without cheese-wiz, onion, or tomato. No mustard, no pickle, no ketchup, no nothin. And if you ask for it with any of those things they yell at you. Best cheeseburger I've ever had.

Exactly. I havent been here yet but I always see the place packed so obviously not all burgers are undercooked. It happens. Sorry the manager didnt jump through hoops and give you a lifetime of free meals but he was probably thinking the same as most of us.....send it back for 3 minutes and we will fix it! BTW, did you eat the burger??

Did they offer or did you ask Put it back on grill?
Undercooked meat can harbor bacteria may lead to . If they refused to cook it more there is always the Health Dept call... if they put it back on grill then why complain? |
