Robert took me to Rose Plantation for my birthday a few weeks ago. Memorable! Delicious food, wonderful ambiance and stellar service. Not inexpensive, but worth it for special occasions.

They also have a private dining room which can include your choice of whatever you would like the chef to prepare—ask Judy.

A ways to drive, but for the special occasion of the MIL's 90th birthday we took her to Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa. It is one of the top rated steak places in the USA. Definitely upscale and definitely good. Dessert upstairs in the Harry Waugh Dessert Room is a perfect way to end a special occasion.

Another vote for Bern's, take the tour of the kitchen and the wine cellar and, even you don't think you can eat one more thing, as previously mentioned, head for the dessert room. Our other choice is Mark's in Ocala. Rose Plantation is ok if you don't want to go too far. Also, might want to go to Turners in Leesburg.

Riccardi's Italian Table in Brownwood has a room in the back for a large party. We recently went to a birthday party there for about 25-30. I wouldn't call it totally up scale but very nice. They brought their own cake and the servers cut and served it. When I went there when it first opened it was incredibly noisy but now they have installed cloth panels and it is easy to talk and not too noisy.
We have had very large parties at Nancy Lopez as many as 50 before.

Turners will accept no party larger than six, begrudgingly. They prefer no more than four.

Mark's Prime on the square and Mesa de Notte on E. Silver Springs Blvd., both in Ocala.

Had dinner at Miz Kathi Southern Cotillion - not as good as Rose Plantation. While the service was good, the food was mediocre. The Fried Green Tomatoes are far, far better at Turners Kitchen. The dessert cake, while looked good was nothing to rave about. The decor was old and antiquated like it should be but it felt and looked "dirty." Would suggest they use lace paper place mats so the table setting looks nicer / cleaner and hides the old piece of glass. Miz Kathi is a good place to try one time or bring a young lady out - ONE TIME - but don't plan to return.

What is amazing in TV--how so many restaurants still manage to stay in business with the garbage they sell as food--

Here's my list
Hacienda Hills
Mezzulana
The Chinese restaurant/Japanese restaurant--Pinellas Plaza
Guy Fieri
and as of late ---The Lighthouse
