Thumbs up Mezza Luna

I realize there is already a thread running about Mezza Luna, but the thread title is prime rib so I wanted a different title.
We went to Mezza Luna again last night. We went to have a drink with friends.
Wow, they were packed !! It was an hour and a half wait for dinner.
Looking around, everyone seemed to be having a good time and enjoying everything.
We were at the bar facing the kitchen door. Food and plating looked yummy.
It was very nice to see.

I really like that restaurant. Good prices, good food, good happy hours. It will only get more crowded with all the new building south of 466a. And the $2 Martinis are nice too! You don't need some sort of special $20 card to get one either. That is such a joke.

Everybody is going to form his own opinion about restaurants. It depends on what floats your boat. Personally, waiting an hour and a half for dinner would sink our boat, but that's just us. Obviously others don't mind that. Also, I think of food other than pizza when trying to find an Italian resto. It's why I've stopped reviewing restaurants or paying much attention to others' reviews.

CFrance: That is probably the best post I have read on restaurant reviews. There is a very old saying "One man's food is another man's poison?" and how true. It really comes down to what an individual considers to be "good food" and that comes down to a matter of personal choice.

I do, however, like to hear whether an eating establishment is clean and the staff are competent.

I agree Bonnie. They have accomplished an amazing job. Their new manager, Victor, has worked long hard hours to repair bridges that others before him had burned. The other night I had a delicious Ravioli stuffed with Blue Crab in a vodka sauce. The meal was perfect. (Hot, yummy and plated well) The bar and wait staff is excellent too! Bravo to Victor!!!
If the staff can smile thru 150 reservations, you know it is going well.

Default Lunch today

Our ladies golf 4-some had an early lunch there today and the food was very good, prices comparable to other restaurants, the server was excellent. We had a bad experience early on so I was glad to see the improvements.
