It’s confusing..
Some are saying they offer military discounts summer are saying they don’t..
If there’s three people at the table 2 getting free dessert
Does seem petty not to give it to the third person

Or.. It seems petty for a person to expect a free desert when they don't reserve one...

Would it be petty for 1 person at the table not to receive a "senior discount" if they weren't a senior?

We went last week for the first time and we were impressed. Not only did we get a free sandwich but the food was delish and everyone was super nice. We also got a bumper sticker and the manager checked on us multiple times and gave us cards to sign up for both VIP AND Birthday clubs. When we got home I registered on their website and we got 2 coupons via email for free sandwiches just for signing up. We are going back this afternoon. It is our new favorite place and the best bbq we've had since being stationed in Memphis in the 80s. The cole slaw and mac n cheese were also excellent. The meat was piled high on the buns and my favorite sauce is the Memphis Belle. There were 6 choices on the table.
Also, the menu was very clear; you order your meat platter/sandwich and can make it a meal by adding a side and drink (XL) or 2 sides and a drink (XXL). Several yummy choices of sides.
I even bought the souvenir cup which I can bring back for $.99 refills.
Yes, I wear my Veteran's cap because most people assume my spouse is the only vet when we both are.
I don't understand the negativity, but I guess haters gonna hate.

They give free desserts to Veterans. The key word here is Veterans. If you are not a veteran, you do not get a free dessert. Seems pretty simple to me and hardly something to get one's shorts in a knot.

Which sauce

I am having them cater a meal after my wife’s funeral. Which sauces do you prefer?

Seems a bit over the top to me. I don't want to have to stand for the national anthem when I go somewhere for Lunch.

It may have been a little tacky, that said if I was one of the 2 guys with you I would have turned down the free dessert. I for one am not interested in eating in a military theme park. I always find it humorous , especially in the villages the constant search for recognition of service (hats are a big one) when most guys couldn’t wait to get out of service . The constant search for discounts , pins and participation trophies , I find a little nauseous, but HEY it works for Lee Greenwood

You can always tell them you sat on your butt during the Vietnam war and hid behind your brides skirt, or college education or wimped across the border to Canada. You don’t have to admit you served hard for this country, no one is forcing that fact. Heaven forbid we continue to honor the men who are the backbone of this country. Let’s save the fine perks for those in office.barfbarf

They do a nice job of honoring our military and first responders.

Neither of the 2 owners are Veterans, nor do they offer a Veteran's Discount.

Seems a bit disingenuous to me.

What the big deal? You are honoring our flag and the people who fought to keep us free.

I hid from behind no one , if people find the need to be thanked everyday and be validated for doing there duty well that’s there right I just find it obsessive here . I’ll tell you another thing about the hats and badges ,I stopped asking people years ago when I saw people with airborne hats , ranger tabs , Purple Hearts some of them would say I’m honoring so and so or I wasn’t airborne I did support them in some capacity ,not everyone I asked but enough that I never asked another guy wearing a hat and again I hid behind no one , see post 42 , but people whether there vets or non vets have a right to own opinion. I don’t know of any of my close friends around the world that put in a lot of time in tough places ever wearing gear , some people are quiet patriots just like some who are quiet about there religion ,I’m one of those although Ive made the mistake of putting it out here sometimes because I get challenged for my views and that’s my problem , I shouldn’t have to justify my views , just put them out there. I will admit to one perk I do use , friends told me about getting breaks for traffic citations for having a Purple Heart plate so I went and got one and I’ve gotten a break in a few different states because of it . I know it’s a little hypocritical because of my views but it’s a one time thing lol and I don’t ask for a free lunch , just a break from a state trooper lol

Oh, dear... What to do?

Oh, I know! If you don't want to stand, don't stand... Problem solved...
