Several years ago there was an expensive steak house where Sonny's is now located. Not the $40-$50 variety but more, if I recall, around $25. I don't think it lasted a year. I doubt any place costing $50 would survive in TV.

I never thought that Whiskey Creek was that great. They had okay steaks but not a place that I would go back to that often. Longhorn was/is better.

That was the Whiskey something or other.
The reasons they could not make it was the food was terrible and the service was worse....the kiss of death on any food establishment.

I disagree with your opinion of a high(er) price establishment not being able to make it. There are many, many of us here in TV who pay that and more for a truly, upscale eatery with an upscale menu and a renowned chef, with fall all over the customer service.......AND...... we have to drive an hour ++ to get it.

I have said it before....while there are decent places to eat in and around TV there simply is not any fine dining here.

If one does ever open and they mind their ABC's of success (the good ones always do) there will be no problem of survival.

The food is MUCH better and it is owned / managed by people that know what they are doing.

Referring to Whisky Creek as an expensive steak house, or even a steak house is delusional. The place was a small cut above a fast food joint. If you want to go to a Steak House in the area you will have to travel to Mark's Prime Steakhouse in Ocala. The sign out front for Valet Parking might give a clue as to what might be inside.

Don't think an upscale/high priced restaurant could survive in The Villages during off season.

Bonnie has yet to comment on this so she is either is not reading this post or out of the loop on this one.

Bonnie - give us your feedback.

Lou,

Blackie's in DC was not worth $50 at their DC place. Ruth's Chris at Dupont Circle was worth that price, however.

If you haven't been to Bern's steakhouse in Tampa, you need to give it a try.
Some of the best beef meals in FL.

Very busy and pricey and worth every Penney!

Just got back from a cruise. There won't be a decision for awhile as to who will get this restaurant. It could be another month or two.

Want a good steak ?

Go to Manny's Chop House in Haines City. Worth the drive. We have never been disappointed there . They offer "call ahead" seating but usually still a wait.....

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more with this statement. NOWHERE in TV is like Mojos. Cubans, wings, pork nachos just to name a few of the items. We drive to Belleview because there isn't anything like it here. Now, this is just our taste but it will b nice getting there by golf cart. More than likely though, we will continue to make the drive unless some of their servers make the move also.

Would be really nice to have a joint like this,,, I love me some Big Burgers also, and the menu shows some possibilities....
