Unhappy Mystic Cafe

I am probably the last on to know this! Found out last night that the Mystic Cafe is not fond of us "Villagers". We went there, ordered our food and made the mistake of sitting down at a table to listen to the DJ. Quickly found out that it is OK for us people from The Villages to order take-out. They just don't want us to use up a space at their tables. That is for their locals to enjoy the entertainment. May or may not go back. Rather go some place where we will be welcomed whether we stay or not.

Strange indeed. We have been there often and the owner, Jeff, has always been most gracious. He is also a Villager.

Is Mystic Cafe different from Mystic Ice Cream? Never heard of the cafe. Mystic Ice Cream welcomes one and all (unless you loudly proclaim you don't like the Beatles). So, where is Mystic Cafe?

I looked it up, I think it's the ice cream place in Fruitland Park. In small letters by the front it has "Mystic Ice Cream Cafe".

So, which is it?
I have always been welcome there.

Well,I. Just say, frankly I don't understand. In seven years, we have welcomed everyone. Our business is probably 80 percent Villagers. I'm so confused...

Mystic Ice Cream --- The best ice cream in The Villages, FL.

I will have to check your place out some time. I go to the Fruitland Park Public Library once in a while.

How would someone know a Villager from a local. Were there free villages tee shirts I got cheated out of?

I think that there is something to the fact that we are readily identified by the local populace.

And everyone I know (Villager and local) sits down to eat the ice cream at Mystic. You may buy a quart to go, but everyone eats their cups there. And I have NEVER seen any sort of discrimination there, not towards Villagers, not towards locals, not even to kids. The biggest problems I've seen are long lines that move quickly; customer issues with deciding what to have; and regulars wanting "their" table (and they usually just grab another spot until their table is vacant).

I must be clueless... and so must be all the other Villagers we saw there, enjoying themselves at the tables.

I'm a Villager and I love your place! Given the ambiance "Xhippee" is so apropos...
