Wife and I went and had a fabulous time. We sat at the bar, had some wings and then later some serious stuff, she with the Reuben and I with Fish n Chips.

The bartenders were familiar faces from City Fire and Cody's as well as the manager, himself from Cody's.

Wonderful place, expect it to be a weekly stopping place for us!

It is on SR 44 right where Powell Road hits 44. I, for one can't wait to get back to TV ans try them. For now, it is fun in Minneapolis with the two youngest granddaughters!!!!!:MOJE_whot:

Mall of America today, MOA tomorrow. It is fun to see department stores again.

Been on the Gourmet Club's website, quite a while.
I'll have to check it out.

Can't wait for the big news article in The Daily Sun. :D

Skip, you seem to know a lot about all the restaurants... did I see a picture of Kris (the owner of Havana CC) in the mix of photos on O'Shea's website?? Does he have anything to do with this new restaurant? The Gourmet Club's website hasn't listed the owners/managers yet.

Skip...how is this going? Did a group invest in it or is it another location for an established restaurant? I think that whoever is behind it has an opportunity to make a good living if they dot their i's and cross their t's and can cook decently. It is a great location...if it didn't cost them too much and they have to pass the expense on to the patrons. We are a miserly lot of fixed income folks.

In defense of the SUN which IS a business, they give story space to advertisers as do all print journalism for pay.

Yes, I remember you said that earlier on this thread, Bonny. I recognized some familiar faces on their website and I'm looking forward to going there to check it out. I'm so bad... I haven't even been to Brownwood yet????

Hopefully they have enough resources to hang on until the southern portions of TV build out further. Right now TV is at peak population, and they are the "newest attraction"..hence lots of "opening buzz" business. A month from now many more people will be gone and the newness of the place will wear off. Being at the far southern tip of TV puts them far away from the bulk of the TV population, so in the coming months there will probably be some very slow nights in the house. Hopefully they have the resources to hang in while southern TV gets more established and brings them a bigger crowd on a regular basis.

Thank you for pointing out my typing inefficiencies by bringing to everyone's attention my typo. I guess that's more important that recognizing the time I spent in finding and posting the information I provided. Someday I'll learn!

Thank you for bringing our attention to a new pub--Irish or Sports it doesn't matter. My sons are visiting next week and it will be nice to try something new. Has anyone been to Hurricanes (formerly JJ Fins), another pub restaurant outside of TV? We ate at JJ Fins and it was fine but we've never been back since they changed hands.

Well they're open late, clean, decent food, prices are spot on, wide variety of beverages, many large screen TVs, trained bar & wait servers m managment is hands on. They have all the right ingredients. Let's all hope they can keep it up and help fill a void of eateries in the southern end TV.

IF you've ever driven on 44 right out of Brownwood you'd see it on the south side of the road. Sparr's (a hardware store) also shares the driveway going in but the driveway diverges. It's not hard to spot!!!
