Default New Owners Have Taken Over At Cane Garden

A new owner has taken over at Cane Garden as of last week.

The new owner is not the chef that has been there for ever. The new owners are the ones that recently purchased Amerikanos Grille at Spanish Springs.

Have been told that they don't plan on making changes. They feel if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Cane Garden is perhaps the most successful Country Club restaurant in The Villages.

So far they've left Americanos alone and it's still very popular.

Cane Garden Restaurant was owned by The Villages Developer from opening up till a few years ago at which time it was purchased by the fellow who managed the Developer's restaurant's. He made no noticeable changes during his ownership as he was making the decisions from the day it opened.

For the last year or so it was thought that Lewis the chef was going to purchase it. I had heard (?) that Lewis has been offered the job as GM so I would guess he will remain if he chooses and is still there at this time.

Do you or anyone know any history on these new owners of two restaurants in The Villages?

Normally you would see something in the Daily Sun or the on-line news. If it has been covered I have missed it.

I hope they don't mess up the pizza. Cane Garden has my favorite thin crust pizza in The Villages.

Default NOT happy.

Why are the Morses allowing these mediocre restaurant owners to take over?

Yes. I said it. Me. Who stands up for the developer all of the time.

Honestly, Ithink the food at Amerikanos is better than Cane. Don't worry. Hopefully, the new owners will clean up the interior. It needs a face lift.
