I truly miss her "Son Rise Cafe" since I ate breakfast there at least once a week.

I tried NYPD Pizza on 466, just east of 301, it is the 2nd worst pizza i have ever eaten. First worst was Jerry's in Mt Pleasant Ia in 1968.

NYPD Pizza is a chain...and honestly, they should be arrested for impersonating NYPD... It is TERRIBLE !!

Cuff them " Dan O "

They have Sicilian thick crust pie AND ALSO have New York style hand-tossed, thin crust pie baked in a stone oven. The thin crust folds nicely for a nice big bite.

Also, did you know that you can order thin crust pizza at Giovanni's Ristorante a little farther east on 446?
You have to ask for the thin crust as their normal pizza has a thicker non-foldable crust. The thin crust style folds nicely and has what I think is a pretty good mix of sauce and cheese.

You've got to be kidding.

If the crust can be folded over, you're half way there--IMHO, Chicago deep dish pizza is not a pizza its a casserole, would you call a chicken pot pie covered in Italian red sauce a pizza ?

I couldn't agree with you more. However, like you, we were in a bind and ordered a thin-crust marinara pizza from Papa John's and found it to be "the cream of the crap".

Bravo!!! in Sumter Landing has fantastic pizza. It's foldable, has a thin crust and just the right amount of oil on the top. We ate there twice in our very short visit to TV to look at homes. There's a good selection of toppings including a white pie (my favorite) and Sicilian style also. Complimentary garlic knots with marinara while you're waiting is a nice touch.

Far from fantastic, its OK, unless you've experience a real coal fired pizza like Tortonno's in Brooklyn, or a pizza like Grimaldi's--there is no comparison

When we lived in Cary,NC--Bella Mia was just as good--they sold the business--it failed--its now A World of Beer

We're originally from NY and NJ and we've had the best of the best including most pizzerias in NYC's Little Italy (in the old days.) It's always a personal thing when it comes to taste but I definitely recommend Bravo!!!

Chatbrat 08-21-2019 03:50 PM

Glad you enjoyed

I am from NJ and I really like Bravo's pizza crisp.

I'd say when that happens, something has changed ... for the better ... and that's a good thing too. ??? Not sure what you are talking about. I just reposted a "cartoon" about New Yorkers complaining about pizza. I don't believe I quoted any post.

Nonni252 08-22-2019 10:47 PM

North, a few posts after the cartoon there was a post by your name that said most people are tired of the complaining about the different pizzas, that nothing ever changes and that most people aren't interested in the topic anyway. For some reason that post is no longer there, so no wonder you didn't know what I was referring to in my post.
