I think Cincinnati made La Rosa's pizza is the best in the world. Truth be told the pizza that you grew up with is the best. Chicago people say their pizza is the best and New York say their's is the best. They don't know because most of them have not ever been to Cincinnati. :icon_hungry:


The guy who designed and built the Brooklyn Bridge built our Cincinnati bridge first. Ours is prettier.

Gracie, my youngest sister who has lived in the Cincinnati area since 1991 is a big fan of LaRosa's pizza. Her husband has lived in the Cincinnati area his whole life and he also loves LaRosa's pizza.

Of course I am older and wiser than my sister, and Lou Malnati's pizza from Chicago is the best. Just my two cents.

Roebling also built a bridge over the Delaware River connecting Minisink Ford, NY with Lackawaxen, PA. It's a neat old suspension bridge which was built as an aqueduct to carry water over the Delaware as part of the D&H Canal. Now it carries auto traffic and pedestrians. It used to have a small toll, a dime if I recall correctly. They might have eliminated the toll.

NYPD would NOT be my choice for a Pizza. I can have a REAL quality pie at Flippers in Spanish Springs.

We like Flippers too except for the fact that they don't put oregano on their pies. A pizza pie without oregano is not really a pizza.

If you ever do go to NYC--or northern Jersey, even--DON'T have the pizza!! You will never again like any other pizza.

What is it that makes the pizza there better?

La Rosa's has a thin yeasty crunchy crust with the cheese covering the pepperoni and has just a tad of sweetness to the tomato sauce that is permeated with all of the good Italian spices. YUM.

Been to NYC, like other pizza. Been to Boston, like other lobster. Been to France, like other cooking. Been to Iowa, like no other steak.:jester::jester::jester:

Maybe you meant, "used to be great." Chengs hasn't been great since the new people took over almost a year ago. The new people would say they're there temporarily until the original owner comes back from China but as time passed it became obvious that the original owner was not coming back. Forgive the digression from NYPD Pizza.

Chicago, is anybody here from Chicago? Because I believe that pizza in the U.S. started in Chicago, not NY. But nobody raves about Chicago pizza?

Lombardi's in New York has laid claim to the first Pizzaria in the states.

Somehow, I think that there are some conflicting opinions among those from the windy city. However, immigrants to the U.S. usually hit New York first and some of those immigrants were peddling pizza on the streets of New York in the late 1800s.

What happened to NYPD. Went last night and I would have done better to buy digiornos

Not saying NY pizz is the best - it happens to be where I come from. I'm sure pizza where YOU come from is your best. However:

Down here in South Florida (almost to TV permanently) almost EVERY pizza place indicates "New York Style Pizza."

The ONLY resemblance to NY is that their pizza is round !

Although pizza was being made in NY, Philly,and Chicago about the same time, I believe it is widely accepted Lombardi's in NY was the first pizzaria. Chicago-style deep-dish pizza was not created until 1943, about 40 years after Lombardi's

I am totally bewildered. Look I posted the the original opinion on NYPD Pizza, (Read) my opinion.

It generated various opinions/comments on the place. The most ridiculous ones came from those who gave various opinions on other out of state pizza places. ZERO BEARING.

Nothing at all to do with NYPD Pizza. Even after all the negative comments an individual had to see for himself and sure enough came out disappointed. Look the place is a joke, make your own dough,or go to your favorite supermarket get some ready made pizza dough and make it yourself, add your own toppings.

As I have stated they have a few loyal followers big deal their, ( NYPD ) Pizza is nothing more than ordinary, run of the mill pizza that can be found in any Supermarket Frozen Food Section, Bland, Tasteless, Skimpy Toppings,. This is my last comment regarding NYPD Pizza. Boring !!

I like the frozen $1 pizza from Sav-A-Lot better than the pizza at NYPD.

I agree with you on this. I'm from N.Y. and I know it's the best, but I also know many people who don't like it. My nephew in California actually thinks Pizza Hut is good. To me, that doesn't even resemble pizza. My choice in the Villages is Bravo. I've heard a lot of good reviews of Belleview but haven't been there yet. NYPD is not N.Y. pizza.

Lou Malnati's (my personal favorite) and Gino's East in Chicago. Delicious!

I won't knock nypd but it's nothing like a good ny pie. Believe me you can also get some crappy pizza in ny , but there are many places that make really great pies. We have several places where I lived that used coal or wood fired ovens to cook the pies......I'm getting hungry

You can order two pizzas from Malnati's for about $50. and they are shipped in a foam container with dry ice.

Sorry, but if you're from New York you wouldn't think so!
