doomed location?
. . .another one bites the dust! I would have thought that with the arrival of Brownwood and all of the homes that are rapidly being built south of 466A, that a real opportunity would exist for a business at that location. Was service and food so horrible? Those kinds of things can be corrected easily. There still is no decent pizza here. |
Like it was said before - cart car accessible.
They are just on the outskirts of TV. If a Sonny's could not make it work, I doubt if anyone can. V BTW - We went to the Sonny's that was there many times before the one in LSL opened. We tried Speckled Butter Bean but my wife did not like the southern cooked veggies. The chicken was good but there were not very many other meat choices that were palatable to us. We preferred Golden Corral better because of the variety of veggies. Z |
the owner should have served decent food, we tried this place 4 times and disappointed each time, the last time the seafood special was very salty, as if the kitchen staff was angry with the waitress. it is a good location, just needs better owners/management. we have seen it before: build it and they will come.
|
Both Speckled Butterbean locations closed (the original one in the Webster Flea Market had been there for many many years) due to a divorce between the owners. Not lack of customers.
O'Sheas was busy until what certainly appears to be bad ownership / management drove (pun intended) people away and killed it. Neither had anything to do with not being able to drive a golf cart there. |
Bet a MacDonalds would work in that location!

We went there a couple of times and price and food were good but the wait time for your order to be taken and then for the food to be served was to long especially considering no more than half the tables were filled. The wait staff was always polite.

Wayne Pelhank (owner) had no experience running a restaurant.

We tried it a few times. The first time we talked to the owner and told him how good everything was and that we would be back. The next time was somewhat disappointing. The last time we went I said I would never go back. I'm not at all fussy but ordering a strip steak and getting a flat steak, overcooked, served on a wooden plate with canned vegetables was too much. (If I wanted food like that I could have stayed home :) ) I feel very sorry for the owners and really wish the could have made it.

Oshea's will be missed
I will miss Sunday's football and Mike the owner and his brothers. The oysters, Bloody Mary's , I wish Mike all the luck in the world and I will track you down wherever you end up bartending. GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Mikie was the GM. You know if he was the owner, he would not have closed just before Christmas.
Mikie is at Evan's Prairie. Going through management training. He's a great bartender but will make an awesome manager !! His brother Andy is at Mezza Luna. |
Glad to see Mike and Andy are employed! EP is our favorite it will be nice to see Mike back there!

My husband gives a vote for a "Hooters" in the location...go figure...

I remember all of the extremely positive comments when O'Shea took over from the Speckled Butter Bean.
Wow, how the tide turns quickly! O'Shea did not stay even 1 year, did they? Big turnover in restaurants. I looked at some old postings and saw one for Mr. P's in Leesburg. That place is boarded up completely. Ay Jalisco in Leesburg has been closed for a long time. TGIFriday's at Lake Sumter Landing is closed. However, the good ones remain such as Cody's, City Fire, Red Sauce, RJ Gators. I would bet that Luigino's at Spanish Springs goes out of business in the next year. |
