The racial makeup of the neighborhood was 5.3% (1,334) White, 79.9% (20,033) African American, 0.3% (82) Native American, 2.2% (556) Asian, 0.0% () Pacific Islander, 1.0% (242) from other races, and 1.9% (474) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.3% (2,342) of the population.[12]

And when the glide path is over Rosedale, it's NOISY!

I guess these folk like J & S pizza as much as we did ! It's still there.

Default it's all relative

I'm originally from upstate NY but have lived in Florida over 30 years. I have heard many people from the NY city area complain over the years about our pizza, bread, bagels, water, ect. Then they wonder why they are sometimes labeled obnoxious--(not saying it's right.) It frankly gets a little tiring. no we can't compare to NYC in culinary areas, but let's talk taxes....

Let us agree to disagree. When I'm in NYC, I like to get a slice. In Chicago, a taste of Giordano's deep dish. BUT if you want REAL, AUTHENTIC PIZZA, there is only one place: Napoli, Italia.

Gio's opened about six months ago by the owners of Giovanni's, which is in Southern Trace Shopping Center between Publix and Ace Hardware. I ate there just yesterday, $6.75 for spaghetti and meat sauce plus salad and bread, it was great! There's a whole thread about them, some like, some dont', just like Flippers.

If you like Gio's and maybe want to travel by golf cart and have faster service and a bigger menu, go to Giovanni's, they also have pizza there. It's not fancy, but it's cheap and good and been there ten years, so they are doing something right.

Just so you purchase a thinner brush than the broad one youre painting new yorkers with, being from upstate new york and being from NYC are mutually exclusive .. Syracuse, in the middle of the state (aka Central NY) is a 3.5-4 hour car ride away .. Rochester, Buffalo even further ..

Lived 30 years in NYC/LI and 30 years just outside Syracuse. NYC wins the food contest. Syracuse wins the snow contest, and just about everything else. If I wanted "culture", I could drive 4 hrs, spend a week in NYC and take in Broadway plays, museums, and all the ethnic food I could eat. But for lifestyle, getting away from the big city rat race was priceless.
