This is the first and probably last time I have disagreed with you.

Most people do agree with you about Pauly's.

It just doesn't taste like the pizza I like from Ohio.

Where is Pizza Hut, Bonny? We will try that one.

That's OK Gracie! We can agree to disagree. Nothing can replace our Jersey corn and tomatoes so be it with Pizza from Ohio! :)

We will be FROGS in 6 weeks and our last trip the only palatable pizza was Pauly's. We haven't gone off campus but I tried Giovannis, Bravo, Pauly's and Red Sauce.... I like pizza.....Will have to make do with what is available.....

:mmmm:

Mallory CC. Brick ovens. Great pizza. Outdoor seating overlooking golf course. You can also see the golf course from indoor seating, along with a bar and TVs.

As a New York boy of Italian parents, I've got to say, and everyone here knows this, that it's tricky to get a good pizza here. Most places here, I've found, undercook the pizza and the crust has no bite to it.

But here's what you do. Paulie's Pizza and Bravo Pizza both have a good sauce and basically a good dough. Just ask them to cook it well done, not to burn it, but to cook it well. Trust me, you'll like it.

My suggestion: Go to Bravo's Pizza in LSL; use my instructions for a well done pie. While you're waiting for your pie with you best girl or guy, they'll bring you a basket of delicious garlic knots and a red sauce dip as a free appetizer. A glass of red wine is in order if you want to kick it up a notch. It's a great way to start the festivities in the square.

Have you tried Stavros in Leesburg? I think it's quite good.

LELANDJANE 08-17-2011 03:29 PM

I like Stavro's too.

Also like Pizza Hut.

Of course, Uno's, Geno's East or Giordano's Chicago style would be awesome!

Papa Gino's

My favorite is Papa Gino's Pizzeria, a New England based chain. Yum! Had some last night and mentioned to my hubby that it would probably be the last really good pizza before returning to TV in a couple of weeks.

We do also enjoy Pauly's and Bravo's pizza but still doesn't compare!

Seems most pies around TV are either the flatish NY style (think Pauly's, Bravo) or the flatbread (think Urban, Mallory).

Is there anywhere that is more of a Scilian style? Not Chicago deep dish. Eons ago we used to live in RI and there was a place in N. Providence called Twins. Our favorite at that time but haven't found similar in/near TV.

Help!

I've had the Sicilian pizza at Toscani's Italian Deli & Pizzeria in Mulberry Grove Plaza and it's pretty good. So's their homemade sausage. It's worth a try.

That is an excellent question.

I bet everyone is gonna say one from their home town.

I know Donato's as a chain and I would settle for that.

I miss LaRosa's from Cincinnati.

I have had people rave about the one in Spanish Springs, but it doesn't taste like the Pizza I am used to.

I wish a good one would deliver!!

Am I remembering correctly that LaRosa's pizzeria was first opened on Glenview Avenue?

We had Donatos, Iaconos, and Tommy's in Upper Arlington (Columbus Ohio suburb). All better than what we've found down here.

pizza

I think that Little Joey's is the best around The Villages and second best is Pauly's but that is just a Boston girl's vote but there is nothing like the pizza from the North End in Boiston.
