Prime Rib issues

Not only is the quality of the cut and the meat important to enjoy a good rime rib, but the cooking must be done correctly. I like Texas Roadhouse for their prime rib because....
I ordered a Medium rare prime rib and received a well done one. I asked the waitress and she said oh yes that is not correct I'll order you another. I said although done too much for my taste I thought it tasty and I had begun to eat it. The manager came right over to the table and said he would let me keep that one if I wanted and that he would have a 16 oz (I only had the 12 oz) prepared for me to go that was Medium Rare. So service is important when dealing with a fine cut of meat. We all know even the best cooks can make mistakes, get orders confused, or just plain get busy and overcook your meal.

Anyone remember Durgin Park in Boston, how about Captain PJ’s in Somerest Ma ? I can’t leave out Archie’s Tavern in Pawtucket, RI ( sadly all 3 are now closed)………but there’s still Twin Oaks in Cranston, Rhode Island that serves great prime rib on Sundays. Every time we are north for the summer Twin Oaks is on our list of places to get great food. This was the prime rib I ordered at Twin Oaks this past summer.

I loved Durgin Park! Especially the wait staff :a040::a040::a040:

I believe it's closed now.

Unfortunately we have not found any food in Florida that is as good as food in New England. Lots of good Prime Rib there. Cody’s is not close to what it was 5-6 years ago, I find the food not that good and find the restaurants dirty for the most part. Much prefer Texas Roadhouse for Prime Rib over most everyplace else. As for finishing a prime rib meal, no problem and add in a baked potato with extra butter, nothing like it.

By the way, we ended up having prime rib at Palmer Legends. It was very good and we were very pleased with the overall experience.

Probably not as good as anyplace in New England (give me a break), but very good nonetheless.

I have visited all of those places in Ma and RI, and you are correct...they were some of the best!!!

Give you a break about what…. The food I have eaten in Florida, mostly in The Villages, is not as good. We have not found seafood, Chinese, pizza, steak (including steak tips as no one even knows what they are) and prime rib to name a few. The first time I ordered chicken park it came with Alfredo sauce instead of red pasta sauce which was horrible. Definitely need to look for things that are good.

Took a chance and tried the Prime Rib at Outback in Leesburg...........OMG...awful! The manager said she gets many complaints and sends feedback to corp. but still the same meat is sent to the store..
