A friend owned the Rose Bud property (I think I remember the name right) for a zillion years. I once walked into Jumbo's in Teele Sq and Burton Cummings was the entertainment. Probably 30 years ago. |

Project ACAC : an experimental investigation in synthesis and structure | WorldCat.org Can one BBQ really be that much different from another? |
[QUOTE=Jayhawk;2329887]You are 100% right. Oakwood doesn't smoke ribs, they take boiled ribs and grill them over a flame. That is NOT BBQ.
Terrible. Wow...every time I go to Oakwood there are crowds of folk there who like unsmoked, boiled, grilled "terrible" ribs. Imagine if they were good...you'd never get in. |

There are two primary reasons why some people enjoy salad bars 1. There are many fat laden items to choose from. or 2. My reason. There are far more healthy items such as greens and vegetables to choose from than on the menu. In the case of lettuce there are only 100 calories per pound. If I tried to eat that much lettuce from a menu the bill would probably be four or five times more. I will confess though that on rare occasions I will go to an all you can eat restaurant and pig out. Then the Derisiveness is deserved. |

I propose that anyone that uses ‘snarky’ or ‘curmudgeon’ on this forum...should have to put $1 in a jar. Similar to a swear jar!
I guess it’s just another generations way of saying ‘whatever’! |

Artman Country Smokehouse is the best BBQ around TV in my opinion. IBBQ is inconsistent IMO. |

I disagree that it’s much too costly....I know many BBQ establishments, not franchises, family owned that not only do it ‘low and slow’ but do so very competitively on pricing. Granted theyre in my home state but even here in FL I can guarantee there are many that do it sans ‘boiling and pressure cooking’. But as others stated many times....you can’t change people’s minds on authenticity. Some think Olive Garden is representative and some think Sonny’s is. They’re not |

Sonny's! Haven't been in a long time. My favorite thing was the Brunswick stew. Only place I’ve ever had it, so I enjoyed it. No major loss for us. Still, don't like seeing places close.
