You eat the food but still wanted it comp. The restaurant was absolutely right you eat it you own it!!!
|
Been there at least a half dozen times and never a problem, always great.
|
Been eating at Miller's all over Florida for years. Have never gotten bad service or food.
Have a hard time understanding why you ate food you did like without complaining and giving then a chance to correct any problems. |

Anybody can have problems, or just a bad day. We consumers do have some responsibility to act. IMO, sitting there brooding for 45 minutes was part of the problem. |
Eating out used to be pleasurable, but as many of us have seen, it very rarely is.

bad help is easy to find
I would have paid for the drinks, gotten up and left long before 45 minutes |

I believe in the three strikes you’re out rule. First time went food, service all good. Second time service slow, food was dried out ribs(strike 1). Three through five all good again so slate, in my book, is clean. All places may have a bad day and I told the manager about the strike 1 time he apologized and I was ok with that.

Server
Server never seen again that probably was the problem and management didn’t know if she walked or he walked off

I would never have waited 45 minutes before flagging someone down to check on our order.

I had a lukewarm cheeseburger and honestly the taste wasn't as good as the cheeseburger on the dollar menu at McDonalds.

Went there 3 times pre COVID, loved the place....been there twice now post COVID, must admit both times lacking the pre COVID experience. No plans for the 3rd try post based on our post covid experiences there.

Sorry, but it happens sometimes
I don’t blame you for being upset after that dining experience. And you were in a bind when the meals arrived — you’re starving at that point, so should you eat or refuse the cold food? I agree that the restaurant should have comped your food, or given you something on the house, at least.
But sometimes, that’s how it is. There’s a shortage of restaurant workers in The Villages, and some places get very backed up with an influx of customers. We go out a lot, and I’ve had similar experiences. Like this one: Went to Prima in Brownwood Paddock recently, just wanted something simple so ordered pizza and a cocktail. I waited, and waited. After awhile I could see my drink had been prepared and was sitting at the bar. I thought about getting it myself! The waitress still hadn’t come after 20 minutes, so I flagged down another waitress, and she went over to the bar and brought me my drink. My waitress finally showed up, with cold pizza. I ate it anyway. It was just a pizza, but if it had been a steak or pricier item I would have refused it. Quote:

Wonder how many times you had nothing to complain about & didn’t take the time to thank a restaurant & it’s employees?
I can guess!! HOWEVER: “IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, SAY NOTHING” MERRY CHRISTMAS!🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸 |

We just ate there yesterday, and it was great. Two of us had the Monday rib special, the other two had the bacon cheese burger. Beers served ice cold, food served piping hot, and all served by a pleasant and efficient waitress. (“Waitress” hasn’t been banished to the memory hole, has it?!)
Wins for all. |
How long does it take for a person to determine their food is cold upon arrival at the table? Something should have been said before the wait staff left the table when delivering the food. I would not have eaten cold food, especially if it is supposed to be served hot. Simple as that. I don't care how hungry I am. I'm not paying for cold food.
As an aside.......I LOVE Miller's Ale House. We have dined there countless times since they opened. We were there the day they opened for inside dining after being shut down with the pandemic. So far, we have never had poor service or bad food. My personal favorite is the Stake Fajitas. Miller's actually will serves deliciously seasoned, large slices of steak cooked to order and not over done little pieces of beef that other restaurants serve. Highly recommend their Steak Fajitas. |
