You have been informed....:BigApplause:

Actually the biggest meal in Spain, la comida, is eaten midday. And a siesta follows. Businesses are closed for at least two hours for those two events.

We went there a few days ago, as vegans it's always a question if there's something we want to eat.

Asked the waitress, she had Antonio the chef come out ask us what we wanted and how we like it prepared, WOW!! it was great.

$15 for two

the other couple with us also liked they had.

Think I want what you had!

I really liked Las Tapas - been there a few times. Service was a bit slow but what I did like is that when the waiter recommended a dish (I was torn between 2 different ones), he told me that if I didn't like it that he would gladly take it back in exchange for something else. I also really enjoyed the entertainment - My friend Lisa Beck (who's been playing all around the Villages) and Jim Locke are playing now as "Rock Solid" and we had a blast dancing to their music after we ate. They are playing again on 9/19 - com check out the food at Las Tapas and their music.

What time does the music start?

MicheleE 09-10-2014 01:07 PM

At 7:30 but last time they played, they were asked to start at 7 because the place was busy. They play until 10:30 so there is plenty of time to hear the music, and we really had a great time.

By the posts it seems it will be hard for residents to get their heads around the concept of Tapas. I suspect it was a risk for them to open in TV because of that....and am concerned for their future. My wife and I will do our part to help them succeed as Tapas is one of our favorite places when we travel to cities that embrace the concept.

I disagree....I predict future success with a new concept for The Villages for those who appreciate good food and willing to pay more than bargain basement prices!!

It would seem that an unexpected number of seniors have moved to The Villages as their first venture out into the free world. In this day and age, I am very surprised at some of the lack of experience and awareness of various cultural and ethnic food offerings.

Maybe they were just buried under kids and day to day survival. Now they are spreading their wings!

However, the availability of Bing and Google should make their new adventure less tenuous. There is virtually no form of knowledge that is untappable on the internet. Many come with videos. Truly eye-opening.

We went for our second visit last Saturday and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. We will be back!!

We were there tonight. Had an awesome time. Met some people and we had so much fun ! It was great. The inside was packed. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Lots of people out on the patio talking about how much they enjoyed everything. So nice to see them doing so good. I love it because it's something different and the food is very good !!!

Re: Tapas

If you do not know what tapas is(a small appetizer size portion) do not go there. They do an excellent job, and are very reasonable for tapas, if you have any experience with this type of dining.

Are you making a joke?
So if it included tax, the actual food bill was $43.00.
That isn't inexpensive for probably three small appetizer type of things and 2 drinks of something.
What are you really saying???

I don't think the seniors you refer to as lacking experience and awareness are the type who get on the Internet and subsequently Google and Bing. They are happy with their new life here which mirrors their previous life, meaning the only thing that has changed is the geography.

Here's what annoys me. I don't want to go to an upscale restaurant and pay those prices, while sitting next to a loud couple where the man is sitting there in his dirty sneakers, baseball hat and mis-matched T-shirt and shorts. The wife usually doesn't look much better. At least in many other cities you can find an upscale restaurant where the clientele cares enough to at least, look like they belong.

Ate there recently and had the Paella Valenciana and it was excellent; not so for another new restaurant opening, their's was cheaper and tasteless. I will pay the extra for good food anyday. Judging from the times we have eaten there, it is a success, always crowded and the snowbirds haven't all arrived yet!:mmmm:

I went there last week. Couldn't even sit down to order because the Music was so loud and the place was dimly lit . Not a fan of all this music where you cannot hold a conversation with your partner or friends.
