We went to Texas Roadhouse Friday night. Food was great, cocktails were small. If it weren't for the noise, we would go back. They make the noise level loud just to make it loud.

Fun place eating peanuts throwing shells on floor and good food, even great, for the money.
Stop expecting $30 plus steaks for $12. In Columbus Indiana it was our restaurant of choice with the kids. Service is good. On . On the one occasion it wasn't when we told the manager on his table rounds, he checked it out, brought a fresh meal, and comped the total bill

for less than $12 a customer can select from a variety of food and desserts including steak which is fair to midlin and doesn't have to walk over peanut shells to get to the food line:D

We finally made it to the NJ Texas Roadhouse. It was quiet and no peanuts on the floor. The meal was a 9 on a 1 to 10 scale. We let the waitress order the meal for us. That always works for me. I'll definitely go back.

I always figured restaurants that make it loud make it loud to turn the tables faster. Move 'em in. Move 'em out. My guess is volume begets volume.

I have an app on my phone that measures decibels. It is interesting, though sometimes rather horrifying, to read the sound level in some restaurants.

I don't get it...it appears that most comments are critical of the noise level...that leads me to believe that it is a deliberate decision by corporate and/or local management. Anyone have some inside info on this?

If its to loud just turn your hearing aid down......

It seems that I heard that the higher noise levels in restaurants get people to order more drinks.
And as another said, it makes for faster turnover!

The unmentionable online newspaper has a piece on Texas Roadhouse Restaurant coming to the Sam's area. Should be fun!

Been to the Roadhouse three times, food always excellent. The third time I felt the need to talk with a manager about the very loud music and staff yelling. This third dining experience was again very good food but my out of town guests and my wife and I were NOT able to have a conversation the entire evening. They will probably lose me as a customer and perhaps a lot of other Villagers...

We ate in the restaurant once and did take out twice. The grilled pork chops were among the best I have EVER eaten. Thick, juicy and soooo tender with appetizing grill marks on each side of the chop.

This is not working out well for you.

All of the restaurants are kinda loud. If the acoustics aren't good then music is played. I sit there most of the time wondering what people are saying. I don't think it is planned. I think that softening sound must cost big bucks.............or a wheelbarrow full of socks to shove in big mouths. I have never done that, but thought about it a lot.

For an experiment I invited 10 neighbors over for a belated driveway social with the " Theme " copy the Texas Roadhouse...... Loud Music ,and Tossing Peanut Shells, BYO of course but Ice Cold Beer Provided.... The social was a Complete Total Disaster !! The 10 of us threw in the towel within 8 minutes yes we had it timed..We cleaned up the peanut shells turned off the " Loud Music " and recovered.

Texas Roadhouse and Cody's I can tell you with 100% assurance you lost 10 potential customers. Why anyone would purposely go to eat at those two " Joints " is a mystery that only you the customer would understand..please tell all of us what pleasure is their in tossing peanut shells on the floor ?

I didn't know what the hoopla was about the opening of the Texas Roadhouse. After all, you already have Cody's (and two locations at that) with a very similar menu. And I've always really enjoyed my meals at Cody's. However, my wife and I (who haven't moved to our house in The Villages just yet) were travelling in southern Arizona last week and happened to eat at a Texas Roadhouse there. I absolutely loved the chili and the rest of the meal was great as well. I don't know if it's overall better than Cody's or not, but I'm looking forward to eating at both when we move there next year!

BK001 05-03-2016 04:07 PM

My husband raved about the Chili also.
