Angry Tightwads

To the couple at Cody's patio in Brownwood between 5:30 & 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 18: When you departed your table after dinner, you were laughing and smiling with your date. Unknown to us at the time was that you stiffed the waitress, not only by not tipping, but running out on your bill. She asked if we knew you and believe me, we wish we did. Business was busy. The waitress we shared with your table was as efficient as was possible on a Saturday night with live entertainment. What you did was stealing. Shame.

Was this couple young or were they old enough to be Villagers? If they were old enough to be Villagers my wife has a saying about seniors that because these people get old doesn't necessarily mean they have matured or use the brains God gave them. You have to feel bad for the waitress.

Exactly. "We all have grown older, but not all have grown up". I see examples of this daily.

Now that is helpful. Not

Hope the thieves got caught on a camera and get to pay for the theft.

If they were waiting for their check, maybe they went to the front counter to pay? (We have had to do that when a restaurant was short staffed).

Wouldn’t that be criminal and not tightwads?

Both. Criminal for not paying for the meal. Tightwad for not leaving a tip after not paying for the meal.

Sounds like they could both use a little Staten Island, New Jersey, Albany Love. I hope the waiter/waitress didn't have to make up the shortage out of their wage.

Just wondering, no accusation but is it know for sure that someone at the restaurant didn't glom the money? How hard could it have been to catch the cheapo dinners? I imagine the may have been slow movers? Stranger things have happened.

Who called the Police to report this? If the Police were not called then that's a Flag!
