Default Turners

We had dinner at Turner’s last night. Being an ecologically friendly restaurant, they no longer offer straws. You are free to bring your own.

Can you still get a cocktail with a little umbrella?

Yes, a maximum of 6. They feel that enables better service and it’s not nearly as noisy as some places. BTW, food is great.

Agree. Excellent food in a quiet atmosphere. Nirvana.

They used to only have two tables that would seat six. The rest were four-tops. Is that still the case? I haven't been there in a while. I loved the fact that it was mostly just tables of four. Nice and quiet.

I don't like dining in big groups (though sometimes it's necessary of course) but there are some scathing reviews on Yelp from people who didn't know 'the rules'.

I agree. Restaurants that want to accommodate large groups should have a private room for them. Some restaurants seem to think they can just move tables together for a large group and nobody else in the restaurant will mind.

From their website:

Seating Policy: Turners Kitchen + Bar is engineered for small table service - parties of four (4) or less.*Due to previous, and numerous, failed attempts to accommodate larger groups at separate tables we respectfully decline all parties greater than four (4).*

Reservations:*To make a reservation for a party of 4 or less, please call 352-530-2274 between the hours of 9 - 11 AM and 2 - 4:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday. We do not accept reservations for parties greater than 4.

I, for one, an glad they stuck with their policy. Even when they’re full, it’s peaceful and one doesn’t need to shout to be heard.

Yes. You’re correct. There are two six-tops but they don’t accept reservations for them. If there are six in your party, your timing needs to be right.
