Well, it sure appears that the Orlando WC won't be your parent's WC....

I'm almost certain its a Car Dealership or it was. It took me a second to recall but a great spot on Bloomfield Ave. Central Ave in Orange was like taking your life in your hands but it was on the way home from Newark. Gotta be 40 plus years ago. Memories :clap2:. :bigbow:

Not an expert on sliders, but isn't Krystal's pretty close to WC? I believe there's one in Leesburg

While in College many moons ago, we got 10 Krystal Burgers for a dollar. No wonder my arteries eventually got all “clogged” up. Castle and Krystal are pretty close. :clap2:

We had this discussion yesterday.Krystal and White Castle...………. Krystal uses mustard??? MUSTARD??? And no grilled dehydrated onions? Both have very soft and moist buns. (there's a joke there somewhere) sorry.

Both use pickles (I always removed the pickle) Both use flattened hamburger patties with holes ...I guess to fry quickly?

Who knows why people like some things and not others. Most of those born in the forties HAD to eat what was served to them by mothers who "meant what they said".

I have memories of early childhood and White Castles as a rare treat. Main Street. Columbus, Ohio. Across from Capital University. Me and my cousin. He ate them pickles and all. I had TWO. They were DEE-Lish a mus.

One correction, I've had many, many Krystal burgers, onions, pickle and mustard is what goes on a Krystal Burger, I prefer no cheese.

The Origin of the holes in a White Castle Burger

In 1954, a burger flipper working the grill in a Cincinnati White Castle left a note in the store's suggestion box. His name was Earl Howell, and his theory stated that putting holes in White Castle's patties would help them cook faster and help the kitchen keep up with rising demand.

"At that time, we were having a major burger boom," Richardson said. "Earl was trying to figure out ways for us to get our burgers out faster because the store was having trouble keeping up with orders. We tested out his theory, and well... he was right."

By the end of the year, every White Castle patty in America had five holes in it, and Earl Howell cemented his place in the White Castle Employee Hall of Fame.

I've personally never understood the popularity of White Castle, unless it's just mainly the size...which is admittedly convenient to scarf down.
