Born/raised in Chicago....
- I recall when they were 12cents each in the 60's. - Loved watching them (yours...) being made right in front of you. - If/when they are made fresh, the taste pops - and the bun is soft but a bit of crisp on the top. - Decision whether to down one in 2 chews, 3, 4.... I think mine choice was 4 most times. - I got the onion bits and the pickle. - Most times squirted on a bit of dijon mustard pack, and a bit of ketchup... - WCs are typically spot-on clean with all the stainless gleaming. I vividly recall flying out of Midway airport with the family 25 years ago. We were early for the flight back to MA, and I had to return the rental car after dropping off the fam and luggage at the terminal. I had a last-crave and stopped at the WC on the corner next to the airport and gobbled down 5 before returning the car. If a WC does eventually come to TV - it will be a gold mine!

In Brookyn we called them "murder burgers". They were the food of choice after a night out of drinking and partying. But boy was it "murder" the next day. LOL

I just looked it up, they are a private owned company that does not allow franchises.

Well no, nothing frozen and then nuked never is. The restaurant's the only real deal. I buy them to have something handy in a pinch.

WC hamburgers aren't boiled, they are steamed.

One way to naturally raise your blood pressure. A pure salt bomb washed down with a liquid sugar bomb.

Some of my favorite fast food restaurants like McDonalds and Wendy's are very successful for good reason; a huge amount of people enjoy them. I love an occasional quarter pounder with cheese, and a single with cheese and lettuce and tomato and mayonnaise and pickle from time to time. quarter pounder with cheese. - Bing images

True "gut bombs" if you saw a car in the dead of winter up north with the windows open , full of college age boys after midnight--you knew they had made a pit stop @ WC, wouldn't recommend them for people our age without "Depends"

You guys are funny. We were surrounded by White Castle Restaurants in Jorsey. It would be a knock out hit down here. Before the Chrystals closed in Leesburg I tried ONE. To say that Chrystals is in the league of White Castle is Blasphemy.
If I had a choice of fine dining at White Castle, Wawa or Culvers it would take a split second to decide. See You at White Castle. Way better than local Chateaubriand. |
