I agree. January thru march if you go between 4:30 and 7:30, expect to wait.

This is the first year we have been here in february and we have been pleasantly surprised. We have experienced only a few brief waits, and in many cases have been seated immediately. Last night (Wednesday) we got seated in 10 minutes at Redsauce - Tuesday were seated immediately at RJ Gators, and tonight the same at Sonny's. Each time we were eating at between 6 and 7 PM. We have eaten at the Lighthouse, Cane Garden, Mallory, Havana, Bonifay, Oakwood BBQ, Cattle Baron, Linguino's, and City Fire, among others and have experienced no lengthy waits. Last year in April we had to wait for 45 minutes to get a table at Lighthouse, so were concerned that the waits would be intolerable this time of year, but so far have not found that to be the case.

Gee coach, you have been a very lucky man! We waited 45 minutes at Cane Garden Tues night and almost an hour at Red Sauce one evening last week! It was worth it and we are in no hurry. Really makes us appreciate the quieter months though!

The wait at Olive Garden last Saturday was 1.5 hours at 5:30 pm. Time to stay home and cook.

Default What would TV be like if all the homes had full time residents

I've read all the comments about how crowded it is during Jan, Feb and March. I've also read the complains about renters during these months. Do you suppose there will be fewer rentals and more full timers after the place is built out? If so, won't it be extremely crowded all the time? What would that do to the quality of the "lifestyle".

It will always be the balance of full timers and snowbirds. As the demographics change there will be both FT & SB in nearly the same mix. Some grandma's can leave the grandkids and some cannot.

We arrived with 7 people at Lighthouse Restaurant at 3:30 on Fri thinking we'd be between the rushes. Still had a wait of 1.5 hours. Then it dawned on us, Friday during Lent, too windy for outside seating, DUH. We've been having long waits everywhere so just don't go where we go, bad luck.

We are renters now, but plan to buy this year and we will still be snowflakes. The kids and grandkids are all in the Kansas city area, so we will maintain a home there along with a home here. As far as waits, as I stated in a previous post we have had almost no lengthy waits, I think 40 minutes at Cody's on Friday was the longest and we spent the time at the square. You do need to pick your spots - go to the restuarants at either square on non-market nights for example, but we have not had any problems at any of the most popular restaurants and country clubs in the last 4 weeks. Not at all what we expected based on the horror stories we have heard and read.

We were there on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in a group of 9 pickleballers and had to wait about 20 minutes. Sat outside on a great warm sunny day in TV. (no complaints about food or service either)
