Good for you! A good friend of mine, who owned 9 fast food joints was asked, What can a person buy in them that’s healthy? He said “nothing “ he rarely ate at his locations just drank the coffee. I have heard it said “it’s easier to give up smoking then given up bad eating habits. I never smoked but I know about eating habits

Pairadocs 11-26-2020 01:39 PM

Too Jay's ? Maybe it is, plenty of empty space for sure !

Pretty much agree on that one, but.... Culver's is really high on my list !

It’s only bad habit IF you over overindulge. Which means don’t eat too much and don’t order the doubles Or triples.

Just cause you don’t eat at fast foods don’t mean you’re eating healthy, especially if you eat out a lot? :icon_wink:

Lots of nearby property not owned by the Morse's.

So true! Even sugar is added to seemingly healthy dishes to make them even better tasting

But I’m guessing since most here are in their 70s, 80s, and 90s does it really matter what is consumed now, for a healthy aspect.
I wouldn’t think fast food, sodium, sugar, additives and preservatives, could affect your health this late in life by what you eat.

That's nice of you to think of us older people.

I don't think anyone eats out all of the time. You need to try their chili. I remember when they opened their first restaurant blocks from the capital building in Columbus, Ohio. It was a treat once in awhile then, and it is a treat once in awhile now.

Worldseries27 11-26-2020 05:59 PM

What!!! No votes for white castle???

Never used the word Older.. I posted many in TV are in their 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Worked 3 weeks in June in a hospital that closed its cafeteria and Wendy’s was one of 3 spots open. I don’t like chocolate, so frosty is out. If I eat beef its rare, I make chicken chili, but never beef. It’s about processed food, and sugar that I just wasn’t raised with, that raises havoc.

Even when I drive down 18 hours straight, I pack all food, snacks and water.

Our kids don’t eat fast food, and our grands are vegetarian, so fast food is a NO. Hard to change upbringing for generations

Looking forward to Wendy's hoping they stick to their normal format, haven't been back to MD since they remodel

I so agree with many things in this post. I love it when you mention that you still can vegetables. I grew up with a small room under the front porch where home canned vegetables were stored and the BEST relishes too.

And other things from my childhood stuck too, I still am careful and try to repurpose and reuse when I can.

One of the things I love about living here is that there ARE so many people to listen and learn from.

We had our three here at the table too, and thanks to God and modern technology, we too could see the family who now live in Manhattan and London and rural Ohio.

I hope someday I can meet you in person.

To my understanding, Dairy Queen plans to build right by 301 near Shell or K Circle gas station. Hope it will build sooner!

Do you mean southwest corner of Rainey Trail & US 301?

Since we have a Sonic not sure they would build another. That said, we have a Wendy’s too so you never know.

So many burger joints on 466 between 301 and Buena Vista. Time for a Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen.

graciegirl 01-01-2021 02:52 PM

I am very glad Wendy's will be closer to us on 466.

So, you think they would taste the same here in Florida?

The Morse family owns very little of the land outside the villages

Another fast food joint in TV. I’ll alert the media.

I think it is lovely.

Wendy's has some really yummy things for not too much money.

Our family has had only meals at home since March. I will be celebrating with a Single with cheese, mayonnaise, lettuce, onion and tomato and a nice small chili when I get vaccinated and my immunity is assured. Oh. And a Frosty. I am looking forward to it.

John_W 01-02-2021 10:47 AM

We're only about a mile from Trailwinds Shopping and since they opened the Wendys at Trailwinds a few months ago I go through the drive-thru about once every ten days. You can't beat the Classic Chicken sandwich, especially since it's 2 for $5. To me, it's as good a Chick-fil-a and Wendys has the Best Chili around, and this time of year it's great.

So they switched locations to 301 by the Aldis?

gatherer47 02-10-2021 07:50 PM

the chili

I have found the chili down here different than the Wendy's up north-no little bits of green pepper
