Default What is your favorite country club for dining?

Our daughter and granddaughter are here and we have already taken them to Cane Garden and Arnold Palmer. What other clubs would you recommend?

Gracie,

Agree with the others....Cane is good; like Lopez even better; a little pricier but the food is oh so good;

In order, for us..... Lopez, Cane, Glenview, Mallory, Hacienda, Palmer, Tierra, Orange Blossom

At Lopez, the Mushroom Brie soup is wonderful...yum yum

The mushroom Brie is to LIVE for!!! Out of this world!!!!

The Fillet Marchand Di Vin (Sp?) is also the best EVER!!!

LOPEZ...and ask for a table in the dining room immediately behind the hostess stand ( or to the left if you are facing the bar area)!! The two ladies in there are the VERY best servers and I hate that I can not remember their names!! Join the frequent eaters club...worth it if you eat there more than one time a year!!

AND...if you head back to Palmer as for Joanne!! she is the best of the best!!! The onion soup is also wonderful!

Arrow Breakfast or Lunch!

GG, vetman and I went to El Santiago the other night for dinner. It is cute, lively, and very upbeat. I would say it's a great place for breakfast or lunch and if weather permits, sit outside. Don't get my wrong, our dinner was delicious, but it strikes me as more of a breakfast or lunch place. Very cheery. I just love discovering all the places in TV.

We frequently eat @ NL and have never had a bad meal in 2.5 years @ TV. We just tried Havana for the first time and it was fabulous. It might become our next best place if it can stand up to the test of time.

We took Mr. Judy's mother to Mallory for Thanksgiving, and they both said it was the best turkey dinner they ever had! I had the ham dinner, and it was deelish! It was our first time at Mallory and I was impressed with both the food and the service.

Thumbs up Glenview Champions Country Club

We went to Glenview on Friday for their Twin Lobster special and the Lobster/Filet Special......both were outstanding. The wait for a table for 4 was only 20 minutes when we arrived at 7pm allowing us time for a drink at the bar. Lobster was fresh not gummy or stringgy and the filet was done to perfection seared on the outside while medium (pink) on the inside and tender. The Ceasar salad for an additional $1.99 was large, fresh and crisp and well worth the extra cost. If you get their before 6pm, you can enjoy 2 for 1 happy hour that includes premium brand drinks...Bombay Saphire Martinis were great! Also service was good overall, little touches could be improved such as offering ground pepper for your salad.

Definitely RECOMMEND..... GLENVIEW Champions Country Club

Default Havana

I went to Havana for a late lunch last week. Ordered the Bimini Boat Mixed Grill. It had 4-5 shrimp on a kebab and a chicken breast, served with black beans, rice, and some mixed veggies.

The rice was good. My companion ate the black beans and complimented them highly. Both the chicken and shrimp were apparently overcooked. The chicken was dry and tasteless --- badly needed a spicy sauce. The shrimp was tough and stringy. The veggies were

Everyone's entitled to a couple chances, so I'll go back. Love the decor.

Lopez or Glenview. The Havana Country Club has good food but the service is too slow. They are new and going through all the issues of getting their act together. Lopez has the best food (in my opinion) and the service is top notch.

Just a comment about Lopez Legacy.
Our party of 4 showed up Thursday before the Mickey Finn show at 3:55.
Our tickets for Finn were for the 6 o'clock show.
The hosts & hostesses at the Legacy restaurant could not seat us immediately.
Being 3:55, we understood and waited...... 15 MINUTES.
And then when we finally pushed the hosts & hostesses to seat us because we had 6 o'clock show tickets, there was a question as to where to seat us AMOUNG THE 40 EMPTY TABLES.

Now don't get me wrong, the food was good!

But I have never seen such confusion in getting seated since I've been to Taco Bell.

Try Tierra Del Sol again,if you haven't been there lately. A new owner has cleaned the place up, trained a new waitstaff, and developed a new menu. The happy hour has been extended from 12:30 to 7:30 pm. I think you might be pleasantly suprised.
