Remember he was continuously getting SHORT pour on his drink orders.

Since that poster has been absent for many months, maybe their health got in the way of life, or something worse. I could never wish Ill will on a poster even if I thought they were a little out there

Thanks for everyone's contribution. We haven't mapped out our route yet, but when we do, I will definitely visit those restaurants, on-line first, to see if we can make any of them.

Chophouse 47 Greenville SC
Grubstake Hamilton Montana

The Grubstake is definitely worth a major detour to experience it. It's 4 miles of gravel switchbacks to get to it but the view is spectacular looking over the Bitterroot Valley from 5500 ft.

La Roca Restaurant

We went here in the 1970s a few times. Thought it was fun. Place is in a cave in Nogales, Mexico.

The Basque restaurants in Reno, Nevada are also a unique experience. Louis Basque Corner | Home of the World Famous Picon Punch

My first real job was a dishwasher at the Rapscallion Restaurant in Reno, Nevada when I was 18 or 19 or so. This is still going very strong after 40+ years.

Another vote for Commander’s Palace. Lunch is a great value, especially the 25 cent martinis!

That was Chatbrat. A little over the top sometimes but he appreciated good food and good service and knew what he was talking about. Haven't seen a post by him over a year. Hope he made it through this pandemic.

I remember Ninfa's. Excellent Tex-Mex in the barrio. Muy autentico including la cucarahchas running up the walls.

Actually, it will be a month road trip. Maybe up tp Maine, or Colorado, or maybe even Canada. We're not in a hurry, so if we saw something that looked good, from all of these restaurants, we could plan our route around them.

Nova Scotia is on our list, so we may stop to eat at your house ;-) Send menu ;-)

What's Yarmouth and Truro like?

Harleyman 05-09-2021 06:00 AM

Yarmouth is like a New England Town. Hundreds of fishing boats, lobster and scollop mainly. Truro is in the center of the Province, population around 12,000. Nova Scotia is one of the most scenic places in North America. Our cottage is on the Bay of Fundy, right on the 45th parallel. Highest tides in the world, 53 feet, twice a day. The lobster is considered the best because of the very cold water.

Truro is the best town on Cape Cod in my opinion. It is far out on the cape, between Wellfleet and Provincetown. It is large geographically but probably the least densely populated town on the cape. We don’t like crowds and built up areas. A good restaurant near Truro is the Pearl in Wellfleet. Avoid going further out the Cape to the freak show in Provincetown, unless you go out to the beautiful beaches on Race Point.

Milleridge Inn was the go to place for birthdays, graduations, etc., for our family when I was growing up! Great food and service in a neat atmosphere. Thanks for reminding me of some great times.
