Default Yalaha Bakery

Must be a Midwest thing. I'll get excited when I can buy a decent bagel and pizza. ALTHOUGH, we have found a great German bakery. Just 20 minutes away and I can enjoy real rye bread.

Do you really not enjoy the bagels from Brooklyn Water Bagels?

I haven't had them fresh, but the next day. They weren't what I expected. A good bagel should be as good the next day or after being frozen.

Brooklyn Water Bagels --- delicious. I was there during my visit last week to TV. Brooklyn Water Bagels is one of my go-to places when I visit TV, and another reason for me to move to TV.

Now I'm getting hungry! I do wish they weren't so HUGE. I can generally only eat half--after the cream cheese, lox, capers and red onions, and tomato, that is.

I can't stand the swirly, so called, rye bread around here.

Just left the Yalaha bakery on our biweekly trip. They have a small sandwich deli and I enjoyed a German salami & Swiss on rye with dill pickle. We left with 2 humongous loaves of rye bread. The type with that yummy sour dough and chewy crust. One goes in the freezer, the other will be in our bread box waiting to be pulled off and slowly chewed then devoured. Plain, toast or as a sandwich it's the way I've known rye to always be.

My favorite is Pumpernickel. Do you know if they have that?
