They have a neat little rescission clause tucked away in the back of their contract in fine print that releases them from returning your deposit check even though they do not follow the large time frame (4-5 months) that the job was supposed to be done. In this case they forgot about our job for four months before they even came out to the house do a five minute measure job in order to order the parts which take months to obtain

I would never give a deposit check to a contractor. If I had to pay for custom materials in advance, it would be by credit card with a delivery time of 60 days or less so I could dispute the credit card charge. Otherwise, I would find other contractor.

Try contacting Seniors against crime and the BBB and file complaints with both, this may get their attention and your project finished or your money refunded.
