Default What is the current status on the rental market?

Is demand for rentals still high? What are the best areas for rental homes?

Jump in --- buy another house for rental -- plenty of renters--when people like us get into a good thing - its time to get out

Why rent when you can buy and see a tidy profit in a few years?

Perhaps he is looking to buy well located houses in TV as investment properties, rent them out, claim depreciation on them on his tax returns and a few years from now sell them off at profit. He could ladder the sales, one or two a year to spread out his capital gains.

I haven't gotten this passed my wife yet but we own a unfurnished patio villa that the tenant left as scheduled at the end of June. I currently rent several storage units and am thinking of not renting this any longer and using it for storage along with renting out the 2 car garage, it would be cheaper to pay the taxes, bond, insurance, and utilities less the garage rental income than I am currently paying for storage. I can then let it sit there and appreciate without the hassle of having tenants. Any thoughts.

Get rid of the storage units and everything in them. Problem solved!

Good to hear. I thought with coronavirus that rentals would slow in The Villages.

If you knew what was in them you wouldn't be saying that and it's not a problem.

Renters got a little skitish for May and June, but have figured out it is better to be in TV than elsewhere. A lot of summer and fall renters tend to be looking at homes or building, they are coming here long term. Winter renters still are saying they are coming because the weather will still be better in Florida.

Default Slowing a bit

I have seen the rentals slowing a bit, and several Canadians have cancelled all together for the Fall. I have one rental completely open for Jan-April with zero bites and that hasn't happened in the 8 years I have owned. Hoping it picks up again and the Amelia property gets rented! Have always had great luck in the past... Peace out! Rae

The apartments are long term unfurnished at this point.

Brownwood apartments are minimum year lease. Not competition for month to month rentals. No worry for me.
