Why do TV have to cut their fairway grass so short? All the guys in our group hate it and do not understand this. Hacienda is longer but the others are nearly dirt all year long. Is there a reason?

It's Bermuda grass. One of the benefits is that it can be cut short so you don't get fliers.

If you don't like it, you are probably not hitting your iron shots correctly. Players that like long fairways usually scoop the ball.
