The next meeting of The Villages Motor Racing Fan Club is on April 6 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center, going green at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker is Alan Sheppard. Alan has over 40 years of racing experience, from the Rockford Speedway in Illinois to ARCA, USAC Stock Car Series and Winston Racing Series in stock cars he built and maintained.

Alan also has 15 years of NASCAR experience as a technical and safety inspector.

In 1994, Alan started his own business, Sheppard Racing Enterprises. He built and repaired stock cars for competitors at local tracks in Illinois and Wisconsin. The company is now located in Deland, which enables SRE to help drivers who race at a number of tracks in central Florida.
