Default info regarding where to turn in Villages ID

We are letting friends stay in our house while we are away next month. They need our IDs to golf, so where do we turn them in? and I'm assuming they pick them up in the same place? Thanks!

You need to get Guest IDs for your guests, they cannot use your IDs.

I thought if you rented your house out, you need to turn in your IDs? We are not going to be here so they are not our guests. We are surrendering them so others can use them to golf. I guess I'm confused.

Our landlord and landlady used the Sumter Landing sales office to transfer their resident ID to us.
$50 fee. Simple procedure.

I would recommend calling the Customer Service Center and have them advise you how to proceed and who to contact.

How long are they staying? Usually if it’s less than a month, owners will just get guest passes, provided free to the guest, application can be done online. If you are letting just use the home, I hope you will find everything ok. Sometimes Free stay for family and friends ends up costing owners money. Usually not malicious, but things are sometimes done incorrectly.

If you are allowing them to stay 30 days and beyond, and want a resident id for each, you must surrender all of your ids at the office in SS. Fill out paperwork with each individual personal information and they must pick up ID with DL or passport. Fee is $50 for each resident ID. The ladies in charge are very helpful and have been in that position at least since 2010.

Yes, they are staying longer than 30 days. Do you know where the office actually is in Spanish Springs? I don't think I've ever been there! Thank you for the info!

It's $50 for both ID's. Not each.
It can be for less than a month as well.

This is easy. Call the villages switchboard, they’ll put you through to the proper dept. You fill out a form, give permission for new peeps. There’s multiple locations where you can have them pick up ossses and pay / I’ve used Brownwood.

There's a big of misinformation in this thread.

I'm a landlord and we get temporary resident ID's for our renters every year since they are golfers and use the executive golf courses. They pay $50 to do so. If your guests don't plan to golf or go to any classes like at the sports pools, you can just get them guest passes for free which will allow them access to pools, pickleball and other amenities.

You never need to turn in your villages ID, they will just be deactivated for the duration that your guests are using their temporary resident ID's. I think there's some confusion here since a LONG time ago (I think 5+ years ago) they did make owners turn in their ID's.

We normally go through this process in person ahead of time at our closest regional rec center and it takes around 5-10 minutes. Then our guests are free to pickup their ID's from the rec center when they arrive.

You surrender your ID when you get their visitor ID.

You're posting misinformation. They won't even accept your ID back anymore. They just deactivate them during the time that the new guests have their temporary resident ID's active. After that time period, they become active again.

I've been a landlord for over 3 years and have done this over a dozen times.

Curious: is there a difference between a guest pass and a renter's pass?
I know when I obtain a guest pass, they put a time limit on it, so you don't have to turn it in, they just expire.

Hi,

You can email lifestyleid@thevillages.com and they will walk you through the process. They'll email you a fillable form which is also available here https://www.villagershomes4rent.com/...IDForm2020.pdf

The form indicates you need to surrender your Lifestyle ID cards, but in practice, like @FloridaGuy66 said, they haven't taken mine back. Then your renter will go to one of the sales centers and get the ID's.
