I enjoyed his shows when I was a young high school student. It was a fun show. Over the years everyone used to comment about him continuing to look so young. I figured he would live a lot longer, but I guess he was aging on the inside.

I can't help but wonder why some famous people die from heart attacks that seem to come as a complete surprise. Don't they go for regular check ups? The other one I remember was the news guy (forgot his name).

r u thinking of tim russert? his passing, the passing of george carlin and a ggod friend who was within days of his retirement were the three deaths that led me to accept an early retirement incentive to leave my employment!

deck clark's passing reminds me of all the days we had to run home from high school to catch the show; and how jealous we were of the kids from south jersey and philly who could be on that show! the music always "had an beat and you could dance to it" or it didn't!

His show "had a good beat" and "was easy to dance to". Two phrases that bring back memories for everyone in my generation. RIP Dick.

Heard the news about Dick Clark earlier today. An American icon who left an impact on the Baby Boom generation, bringing us a lot of good entertainment.

I loved to watch American Bandstand on Saturdays during my teen years. On CNN they showed a few clips of AB from the 1960's and 1970's. Just about every major musician, duo or group from those years made at least one appearance on AB. Brought back some memories. RIP Dick Clark.

Today I read about Dick Clark's show business empire and how he was a "workaholic". That explains a lot. He took better care of his businesses than he did his health. That's known as "type A personality" and brings on a lot of health risks.
