Default How many times a month do you eat pizza?

There is usually so much talk about pizza, where to buy it, which is best, which has best service, which is most like Chicago pizza or New York pizza that I am wondering how much you like pizza.

I love it but we don't have it too often, maybe once a month. It isn't because they don't have our favorites here; Donatos or LaRosa's both available in Cincinnati, we never had it more than about once a month up north.

I don't know why.

How often do you like pizza AND what is your absolute favorite? Include city and toppings. I am curious.

Ours is Donatos thin with pepperoni that is crispy on top.

Lou Malnati's - Chicago area chain - Lou pizza, thick crust, spinach and sliced tomatoes.

But I only order this about every 3 or 4 months as it ain't cheap. But it's sooooo goooood!

Lou Malnati could make $$$$ if he or his family opened a restaurant in TV.

No pizza here in this rural area to crow about. An occasional slice of cheese pie with an antipasto on the side from Anthony's is the best out there. Now for the good stuff, Miss Sam makes a really tasty pie at home now and again. Pepperoni and sausage on my side, deluxe on hers.

To answer your question, Gracie - - - we have pizza maybe 1-2 times a month at various places. As long as the crust is somewhat thick, we're good.

Also, there's what I'd classify as a 'pizza derivative' - stromboli - that we have usually once a week at a local place called Clay's Cafe in Hebron, OH. Basically pizza dough with cheese, pepperoni, and sausage that's then rolled up, baked, and then basted with garlic butter. Those are their standard contents - they'll make it with whatever you'd like. Served with dipping/pizza sauce on the side. Good stuff - their signature item! Well worth the drive for anybody in greater central Ahia.

Clay's Cafe web site link

We're going on a motorcycle ride with some friends later today......and stopping at Clay's for dinner on the way back to the hacienda. Yum!

I love any pizza. But after loosing 78 pounds it isn't on the menu much any more. Five hundred calories per slice.

friday nite pizza is like a religion in our house and has been for years - please don't tell that to the totv food police here! you'd think we should call our pizza guy when we DON"T want a pizza!

always a thin, thin crispy crust - sometimes a plain cheese pie, sometimes with sausage and peppers, and sometimes a half sausage/peppers and half white pie with sliced tomatoes.

[i just know the food police are gonna come after me now! ]

Originally from NYC (me-Brookyn, Husband for Queens) Love NY style pizza. Haven't found anything exceptional down here. Enjoyed Bravo and Pauly's. Looking forward to trying Flippers. Usually we make our own pizza at home. Use fresh ingredients. Fresh tomatoes, garlic, spinach, basil and fresh mozzarella. Lots of fun. We make individual pizza's so we can each add any extra items that we like. Always different, always good. About 2 times a month now. Used to be a Friday night tradition when we lived in NY.

About four times a year. Onions, green peppers and we alternate either pepperoni or black olives as the third topping.

How often do we eat pizza? As often as my wife feels like making it but at least twice a month. We make both red and white thick and thin with or without anchovies round and square. My favorite is Neapolitian pizza simple but delicious and with a red wine Perfecto!

Ciao

Canale's . . . . . . Oswego, NY . . . . . OMG . . . . .
Had to give it up (and the snow) for the good life in TV. Send me a PM if you are sure you've found the best pie in TV. Just bought a cottage in Sanibel if there's anything close to there.

Pizza is a basic food group for me. My favorite is mushroom, onion and black olive. Don't eat it as much as I'd like to. Just had pizza tonight at Flippers. It was good. Cici's is not! Pauly's was good and I miss it. Belleview Pizza, I think for now, is my favorite. So, Gracie, what's yours?

My hubby and I have both tried to make homemade pizza. Our hangup is the "from scratch" crust. I prefer thin and crispy and he likes thick. However, we'll eat either one IF we had a good recipe for a tasty crust. Ours always turns out bland and the texture is not right. Anyone have a good pizza crust recipe to share?
