Default Plant pal drives my pooch nuts.

Just got a blue bird plant pal and my chihuahua/terrier mix hates the chirping sound it makes. The plant pal is only supposed to chirp when the plant needs water. It was watered thoroughly recently however. Poor pooch has been slinking around all morning from the chirping.

Took the damn thing out of the plant and put it away somewhere dark but the poor dog still is upset after 5 hours or so.

My dog is afraid of his shadow! Glad I didn't invest in the plant pal!

My little guy reacts that way to a smoke detector, microwave, low battery indicator, etc. I think dogs ears are more sensitive and perhaps it hurts them.

I thought I was the only one with a dog who reacts to strange noises. He not only freaks out at the sound of the vacuum, smoke detector etc., but he also barks at the television when any dog is on the screen. I didn't think dogs paid any attention to tv sets but alas, I was wrong.

My little guy never watches television. He totally ignores it. However my 70 pound Lollipop watches television intently and reacts hysterically to any dog that appears on a commercial or show. She also reacts to cats and any animal on a nature program. Never to people. I regularly have to clean dog licks from the screen.

If I'm watching Dogs in the City, or Animal Planet, I have to lock her out of the room. She even reacts to dancing M & Ms, and the gecko advertising insurance!

He does an amazing job. Last night's Dogs in the City was heartwarming. They decorated a shelter in New York, and showed some pet adoptions.

By the way, Lollipop is a rescue. One reason her owners gave her up is that she licked their plasma television when dogs came on! Their loss is definitely our gain. We love her to bits.

Sophie is scared to death of hot air balloons. Last year during one of our walks she heard it and saw it before I did and she became really nervous. Two weeks ago we spotted one flying over while we were walking through Poinciana and she really freaked out. There was no where I could go so I carried her for awhile trying to calm her. She really hates the whoosh sound they make. Now on every walk she keeps looking up!

At one time we had a floor humidifier with two large clear water tanks on each side. Periodically, one of these would "belch" a few air bubbles bottom to top, making the usual bubble sounds. It made the cats go nuts! One of them would sit and watch the thing for long periods of time, just waiting for the bubbles to erupt again.

To think of all the money I wasted on cat toys!

I had a standard Poodle that was freaked out by balloons. Regular balloons were bad enough, but the day she saw a hot air balloon I thought she would lose her mind!
