I'm from southern Orange County. Moved here following a bunch of neighbors that are all very active in sports and activities. In the new areas you will find people even in their 40s that have retired. On my block the average age looks to be younger than the northern Spanish Springs area since we are in the new homes.

Every section will have turnover.

When people pass on, or move to different facilities, they are typically replaced by younger people...

It happens in my neighborhood up North and it happens in TV...

I've read all the books, watched all the YouTube videos, and googled everything. I'm 100% on doing a lifestyle visit, but I have a lot of questions. Such as , is there a social environment for a "younger" (lol) single man, ect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Vince

There are activities for every possible activity. Left handed CPA archery? Wednesdays. MBA holders who like calligraphy, second Thursday of each month. Try not to take any negative post personally. I am from NY and wear a "Don't NY my Florida" shirt. The sentiment is actually greater in Sarasota, where I am during the week. Being younger (i'm upper 50's) is a plus as we tend to be better able to enjoy all that TV has to offer. Then again I play tennis with a 90 year old who soundly beats me. Would not shock me to find there is a club for people into being beaten, but I digress.

As for activities, as someone in my 50’s, there are plenty of people much older who can beat me in some activities. Age really isn’t a thing here. Just leave the CA way of life there, things are done much different in FL.

Wow, do they ask for your birth certificate or some other proof of age. I'm 57 but have the appearance of a bronze 35 year old god. Thinking I can fool them for a few years past 60, but not if they check ID's.

Will be a culture shock coming from LA, regarding weather. May-Mid October hot and humid. Suggest renting 1st. A lot of singlle woman in TV and most are looking for active men

VILLAGERBB 09-08-2022 01:23 PM

California to TV

Suggestion: Rent for a while before you decide to move.

Absolutely tons people your age and single . I’m single and did the same research etc. Did Life Style visit and everyone is happy to answer questions and you’ll find TV is very friendly . Everyone experienced same things moving here and hundreds of people from California ! I’d recommend if you love biking, nature, baseball, astronomy, wood working, air gun, archery, swimming, younger population buy South of 44. I watched a lot of Jerry and Linda the Newcomers and Rusty Nelson on YouTube.

Hi Vince.... I moved here two years ago next March. I am your age and I have found that it is a BIG challenge to meet singles our age here and date. The VAST majority are older than us. Don't discount them though, their spunky and some run circles around many 30 year olds. However, I understand and it's not easy at all unless you're interested in attractive older women or Central Florida Locals. I have recently notice a few more of us than I have in the past so maybe the next wave is upon us and WE will be the aged majority at some point in the future. Theres so much here though that change is for certain. Best of Luck!
