Hey All you single peeps,
I never realized how many of us are out here just waiting to move to TV. I visited TV over a year ago and have been trying to sell so I can start the rest of my life. I have learned so much from all you wonderful people on TOTV . I can't wait to meet you all................

Hi all...

Hope is not to late to add myself as a single wannabe -- Just returned (7/6/08) from my very first visit to TV and I'm hooked. I did the Lifetime Preview thing and was totally overwhelmed at this place - its great!! Now the big thing is to sell my townhouse in NY and pick out my new home in TV. I can't believe I'm so turned on by TV - if all goes well I'll move there without knowing anyone there but it won't be long before you meet people. I attend Life Long Learning classes at Stonybrook University here and its great -- can't wait to try it at TV. Love TOTV...

Hi Angel222...... welcome to the singles' forum; it's been very quiet here for the last couple of weeks ! I hope it's because everyone is out having FUN and not cuz they lost interest in posting.

Angel, can you describe some more of what you saw on the lifestyle preview, especially what village you liked best and why ? I have not visited TV yet, perhaps this winter I'll make the 3,000 mile trip.

My FSBO has been a flop and I'm stocking up on wood for the coming winter ::) :'(

For the Single Wannabe's if your down for a preview visit during the time for the TOTV luncheons at Crispers (third Friday of the month at 3:00) plan on that as part of your visit. That way you can see the faces of some of the TOTV members and have a Villages social. Also post when you will be here and see if you can meet some TOTVers at the squares at a set time. It's a great way to have a group of friends in place who are Villagers.

What a generous invitation!! and a great way to meet and greet newbies and wannabies. I will be in TV in mid-Sept. but, with MUCH, regret it will not be at the time of the monthly meeting and I'll only be there for about 3 days. Now that my home has sold I've decided to take a quick trip and meet with a Realtor. I don't expect to moving into TV for a few months, however. Your invitation is a further indication that The Villages is truly Florida's Friendliest Hometown. Sure wish I could have made the luncheon, though.

Angel, I moved to TV knowing one couple. Their interests and mine were very different and they were and are very busy with their friends. So, while knowing someone here, I really moved in as a stranger. Between TOTV, my neighborhood and bridge, I've found some wonderful people both single and coupled. Trust me, when you move down here you won't be a stranger long unless you choose to be.

And tk, just give a shout out a day or two before you'll be coming down. Have no fear, a get together of some sort can be arranged for either lunch, one of the squares in the evening, dinner or even Katie Belle's. If nothing else, TOTVers are a friendly lot (even if sometimes downright strange). ;)

Another very nice invitation that I will surely take advantage of. I'll let you and the group know a few days before my visit and, hopefully, I can join you and become acquainted. Because I will not be staying in TV, and haven't had the pleasure of getting to know ANYBODY there, I will not be allowed into Katie Belle's (just my luck!) but I would love to meet somewhere. Great ideas in this string. Please count me in with the newbies. I've recently bought a Villa in Bonnybrook and hope to be down as soon as my house up here in CT sells. I'll keep an eye on this Singles forum - wish me luck so I too won't have to spend another chilly winter in New England. We all seem to be in the same boat. Keep a good thought. My only worry is missing the grandchildren. Hope they keep to their promise and come visit often. Love this site - keep it up. Thanks CIB for pressing on.

As I have no definite plans, at this time, to visit TV... or for relocation there.... I will have to depend on keeping warm this coming winter by reading all y'all's posts and I'll be :'(

Thanks, redwitch, it'll be fun seeing what's behind those doors. Years ago Jim Lowe sang about "What's behind the Green Door". Poor guy, I wonder if he ever found out. Thanks and looking forward to it.

tkret....... thank you for the good wishes. I'm being soberly realistic and - from reading all accounts of the economy - I will have to remain a "wannabee" until further notice and will live vicariously through all you fortunate TVers.

It's not so bad now.... summer in s/Oregon is delightful and fun; but the winters are long and bleak and I have to stay indoors until the frost & black ice melts off around noon :dontknow:

CIB, Tkret, BestMickey, and all other STOTVers: I think the Welcome Wagon idea is a great one. I have a house in Caroline but will not be moving there till June '09 because of work commitments. I would love to host a June (maybe mid June) STOTV'ers gathering at my house. Sign me up, ok?

i am so excited...my granddaughter finally helped me get my photo on my profile which seems so easy to everyone else....have enjoyed seeing your creative photo changes....i am arriving by end of august and also love the welcome wagon idea....and CIB you are welcome to stay at my little place a couple of weeks this winter if oregon gets too cold for you....remember i am moving from north dakota so i can relate....i look forward to meeting all of you....
