Singles Get Togethers & Misc

Finally, finally, I've made it to this wonderful place. I'm learning my way around slowly, getting lost some, but not as much. It's those darn round-abouts!!! Met some great people at Crispers.
I'd like to begin slowly getting involved and would love to know about the singles activities in TV. I'd like to meet other singles to do stuff with, like go to the movies, out to dinner, go on shopping expeditions, travel companions, etc. Can anyone give me the low down and head me in the right direction?
Also, I'd like to volunteer - I love to cook, so volunteering in a soup kitchen would be good. Anyone have info?
So, I'm heading out today to explore Spanish Springs area (already have LSL down pat).

hi island girl,

the sumter singles get together on nov 23 was great fun because it was a potluck and a dance, so it was a good time to have our first experience with this group. if you are not a member yet, we can join officially on their jan 23 meeting, also at lake miona.....i think it is a game playing meeting (of the deck of cards variety!) and i believe it begins at 3 but check on that...

The next Sumter Singles meeting is on the 25th at 3:00 (fourth Sunday of month). I played in the golf scramble on Saturday at 9:00 (second Saturday of month) then lunch at Palmers.

Welcome to The Villages. If you like to play golf, there are two very nice organizations here - one is the American Singles Golf Association and they meet the 2nd tuesday of each month. Have a lot going on. Their president is Larry Aarps. The other one is The Villages Golf Club. This isn't a "singles" club but there are a lot a singles who belong to it. They play golf outside of the Villages at local courses in the area at least once a month. As for volunteering, St. Theresa's Church in Belleview (just north of 301) has a soup kitchen and is always looking for volunteers. The hacienda recreation Center also has a list of all of the different clubs and the contacts. Hope this helps. Monica
