Default R.I.P. George Foreman.

He went toe -to -toe with some of our greatest boxers. And sometimes refereeing them would be my parents' sometimes bridge partner Mills Lane.

I liked George best outside the boxing ring. May he rest in peace.

Can't get through many garage sales without spotting a George Foreman grill or two. RIP George.

Liked his grill had several of them over the years.

Wonder how many of his kids were really named George.

Great sense of humor

All five of his sons were named George Edward Foreman.

George Jr, George III, George IV and George V and George VI. I have to think they were all given nicknames.

Default Nicest Guy

As a pilot for Netjets I used to fly George on private jets. He was one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. He always ordered Fruit Loops for his breakfast catering.

One of the things I remember most about George was his display in the ringafter winning the Olympic Heavyweight title in Mexico City in 1968. In an olympics with black fists and demonstrations, he proudly waved a small American flag around the ring. I was glad he was representing our country.
