Default Excellent Cooperation Between Rec Depts

Each month the Recreation Dept. puts on tournaments for pickleballers of all levels. Last week, an Intermediate Tournament was scheduled for the Bacall courts. The Mixed events were held and completed on Tuesday. Prior to the Thursday Womens Doubles, the courts at Bacall received serious wind damage necessitating cancellation of the remaining events or finding an appropriate venue. Thanks to the cooperation of all concerned, the rest of the tournament was moved to the Sea Breeze courts. On the surface this does not sound like a big deal, but 48 participants had to be contacted, numerous spectators had to be notified and the Rec asst's had to be on hand to check in the players. EVERYTHING went off without a glitch. Now everyone was not happy though. While most of the OPEN players at Sea Breeze understood, there were a few who felt put-upon. I write this post only to let those involved know how nice it is to see such cooperation when unforeseen circumstances occur and the seamless effort in making sure the "Show Goes On". This was most noteworthy due to the fact that Truman courts were also unavailable due to serious wind damage. Thanks to all!!

Default Cooperation fantastic

I can't say enough about how the Bacall and Seabreeze staffs helped us make the transition from Bacall to Seabreeze for the Intermediate Round Robin Tournament when the Bacall courts were damaged. Anyone who would complain about the courts being used in this case should remember they live in "Florida's Friendliest Hometown" and will benefit at sometime from the great job our rec centers do to accomodate villagers.
