Comply.

[QUOTE=Maker;2369203]The police way overreacted and handled the situation extremely badly.
It was a traffic stop, did not involve a chase, was not a known felon, and no weapons were involved. Incidents like this are hugely detrimental to building and maintaining the public's positive opinion of the police. EDIT - More bodycam footage due to be released from the 6 police officers at that traffic stop. I also would be interested in hearing the radio transmissions. What was said that necessitated that amount of ?[/ ] A very simple answer do what the officer instructs you to do. period |
Same as aways. If these idiots would simply obey the law and if confronted by the police simply comply with the police officer's requests, these types of instances would be eliminated. You would think by now they would understand this, but obviously not.

Funny thing is, they never stopped accusing Guess they knew all along they were in the wrong. Ya know what they say sticks in a lot of people's heads: A strong offense is the best defense. I think they meant the gridiron, not curbside, but the mentality is the same. |
Just because his name is Tyreek Hill, doesn't mean that he's famous. Until this incident became news, I had never heard of him.
His windows were tinted too dark to see the interior (not legal). He didn't keep his window rolled down (he could have had a weapon inside .. no way for the cop to know). No time for games. Comply or get cuffed. It's a no brainer ..... even for someone with half a brain. |

Even if cop somehow did know that when he first approached Hill's car, why would the cop not get Hill out at that point in time when the window was down (because Hill giving license to cop), and before the cop walked away? There are 2 clips floating around. One showing the entire event, from the initial stop through the event. The other clip omits the beginning, and starts as hill was rolling up the window. That one is edited and incomplete. |

The Supreme Court has held not only must you roll the window down but if officer asks you to get out you must exit the car. Maryland v. Wilson 519 us 408 (1997).
In Pennsylvania v Mimms the court also said the officer can also require everyone in the vehicle to exit the car. There are several other cases that can be sited like Michigan v Long. A ticket is actually a courtesy, you could technically be detained. If the cop asks you to roll the window down do it. Cop says get out do it. Plenty of time later to argue your side of the story. |

I can’t believe people are using the race card. The cop asked him twice to roll the window down. He would not do it. Then the cop asked him twice to get out of the car and he would not do it. You do what the damn cop tells you and you don’t get hurt! None of this would’ve happened if he simply complied with the cops order . How’s the cops supposed to know whether he has a gun in there or not? I’m sick of the BS blaming cops.

How was the cops supposed to know whether the guy got a gun in his lap? I’m sick of blaming the cops. I’ve been pulled over plenty of times and List what they told me and never got in trouble. When I get pulled over, I put all four windows down so he can see in the car and I put my hands on the steering wheel. You have no idea what they go through every day!! |
All had to do is listen to the cop. The cop asked him to roll his window down and keep it down, he ignored him and rolled it up. The cop asked him twice to get out of the car, he didn’t do it. How the hell is the cops supposed to know whether this guy has a weapon or not? Your reply is BS.

Hill's major offense was not rolling the window down *enough*. Not rolling it down *quickly enough.* Not getting out of the car *quickly enough.* Not sitting down *quickly enough.* And for that he was dragged out of the car, shoved to the ground, handcuffed with a knee in his back, then choked and pulled to the ground again. The cop certainly showed who was boss. If that is what he is paid to do then the national exposure will do him good. We'll see. |
