Default Prayers Needed

We will all continue to pray that God will watch over, guide and direct the team caring for this young man. Prayers also for his family and friends at this time of difficulty.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend's son. I will certainly say a prayer for him and his family. So sad to hear this at this time of the year when we should all be celebrating.

Prayers for Brian and family, and you too. Too young to have this happen.

Default Update

Just wanted to thank everyone for this amazing place and adding Bryan to your prayers. Bryan can now walk without oxygen, tumors have shrunk 75% in his Lungs, liver is now only 4 times the size it should be and starting to function again. Next pet scan will tell us how brain tumors are doing. Off pain meds. Bryan has been on the same treatment as Jimmy Carter that has the same cancer, stage 4 malignant melanoma.

April 1 ( not an April fools joke) Bryan will be returning to his Emergency Department Residency. He is by far not out of the woods but with everyone's thoughts and prayers he may one day be able to become a great doctor.

Great news. The power of prayer and modern medicine. Is the drug on the market or is it a Study Drug?

The drug is on the market and is called Keytruda. I am an oncology nurse and just had two drug reps come and give an inservice on this drug on Thursday! So glad it has been useful in this young person's case.

Default Sadly events change

I just arrived in TV on Saturday morning for my 3 week down time, when first text came. Bryan had total confusion pet scan showed all tumors shrunk by 75 percent, but the two tumors in his brain now look like a Dalmatian. Text at 2:59am Monday was he was in convulsing. Intubation at 3:06am.
His father and I have been texting for 24 hours straight about when to remove from vent. As I sit reading all of trivial things that goes on in our lives that we all have lived such a full life, I wonder why this amazing 26 year old ER Doctor got the short end of the stick. Sometimes you question your faith.

As I sit on our lanai doing some paperwork that has taken me 10 times longer, than normal, I have questions on why Bryan. Just waiting for the next text. Sadly his heart is strong and this will take awhile. So prayers for family still appreciated.

My heart goes out to you, and to this boy's family. So much of life is NOT fair and you are right, events like these make us rethink our own lives and our place in the universe. May I take each step this day and every day with the intent to make the world a better place and be mindful of each minute I am given here. Hugs to you all. :-(
