I read all 3 books. The books were written as Twilight fan fiction. If you read the Twilight series you can see the similarity between the 2 books. The books are very poorly written in the first person. That being said, the romance portion of the book is very nice and I can see many a couples sex life being spiced up after reading these books.

I got halfway through the first one and became bored with it. Had the same problem in my twenties with the historical romance novels. Kept waiting for the story to develop a plot, a mystery, anything but the female character constantly gushing over how good-looking this guy is! Oh, please! So many other really great stories out there to spend a few hours reading.

I reserved the book at the library to see what all of the fuss was about. Guess I will cancel that request based on the bored posts.

UUJUDY.....ROTFL!!!!
Must be something wrong w/me....read all three and LOVED them! The "porn" was pretty soft....and got to be a bit much after a while, but I found myself becoming invested in the characters, Ana and Christian. For those who only read the first book...the second and third ones get more into the actual STORY, there's still the sex, but not quite as much. Good, light summer reading IMHO. Deb |

I'm with you, deb. I just finished #3 and now wish there were more. Also agree that #2 and 3 were better reads than #1.

Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One by E.L.James
Fifty Shades Darker: Book Two of the Fifty Shades Trilogy Fifty Shades Freed: Book Three..................... I read the first book on my Kindle; am presently halfway through second book of the trilogy.....with third also downloaded on the Kindle. Everytime I did a book search, they kept recommending this book..... By the second book, one realizes WHY Christian is like he is...... if you are interested in what makes people tick.....you will "get it". Or, how childhood trauma can affect one's adult life............ I had no idea what the book was about when I ordered the first one. However, I read everything and am a fast reader......devouring all books. I had to put "Russka" on the back burner..........it's by the same author who wrote "New York".......Edward Rutherfurd. Now, those are two EXCELLENT BOOKS. Russka is a novel on Russia from it's earliest days.......and New York, ditto..........Rutherfurd writes in a similar fashion of James Mitchener. |

I am on the second book, and I really enjoy them. Very similar to the Twilight characters. So if you were sexually frustrated with the all the tension in the Twilight books, well- 50 Shades is just for you! haha.

Think I'll wait for the movies. I wonder if these will come to the Villages though? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_of_Grey
