Default Sam Houston & the Alamo Avengers.

This is by Brian Kilmeade and is pretty good.

Have not read a lot of Texas history but have seen many movies and read many fictional books about Texas history. They do cover the events of the Alamo often and its aftermath.

The book does have a strong slant though which professional historians usually try not to bring into their writings.

I read a report recently that the security forces currently at the Alamo are ready, willing, able and will take immediate action to defend the Mission should any idiot or mob even look like they may attempt to do damage to the Alamo

nice clear message...no gray area at all
