I agree about the Ken Follett Trilogy, Fall of Giants, Winter of the World and Edge of Eternity.
Also I recommend the series by Jeffrey Archer, The Clifton Chronicles. 4 of the 5 are out starting with Only Time Will Tell, Sins of The Father, Best Kept Secret, Be Careful What You Wish For and Mightier Than The Sword (releasing 2/2015).

That is just a few. Go to this link and put in the author and get a list of books with a certain character.

Enjoy!

I'm considering many of your recommendations...especially that Inspector Gamache one. [emoji4] But I wanted to ask also...

Anybody read the Prey series by John Sanford? If so, opinions?

Love Sanford. Love the Prey series.

Another good series in this genre is the Lincoln Rhymes series by Deaver. To me, this is the best of what I call the murder-mayhem genre.

I am almost through the Shardlake series by C.J. Sansom. If you like historical fiction this has a lawyer turned de textile in Tudor England with very good character development.
Another book coming out in March..can't wait!
