I normally don't go to really violent movies like this, but Denzel Washington is one of my favorite actors. I have enjoyed watching him since he played Dr. Philip Chandler on "St. Elsewhere" in the 1980's. And he does a very good job in this movie. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sequel made.

My otherhalf saw it and enjoyed it. Said it is definitely over the top gory, but he would go and see it again. Loves Denzel.
I don't do blood and thunder movies. I cannot watch violence of any kind, I'm a wuss. |
Thought it was a really good movie, Denzel was great as usual.

Based on the television trailers I've seen for it, I would have no interest in seeing it. Denzel Washington is great, but that doesn't mean that he can't be in some bad movies. Just take a look at Nicolas Cage. In my opinion, one of the best actors in Hollywood and who has starred in some of the worst movies to come out i the last several decades

We saw it today (Monday the 10th) and both really enjoyed it. Denzel is great, and yes, the line about him "Not coming for help; he was looking for permission" seemed to say a lot about his previous working relationship with the female character.
We thought it was an enjoyable movie. Time/money well spent. Best, C&M |
It came out on NetFlix this week 12/29) and I managed to get it. Not a bad movie but it was not a recreation of The Equalizer that was on TV years ago.
Lots of action and a pretty good story. Took a while to get going but once it did it was really good. Not that much blood and gore as compared to other movies these days. And just as ruthless as in some of the Kindle books I read. Z |
Really enjoyed it.
