I'd place "Airplane" in there too (also 1980).

Absolutely. I must've seen it 20 times and every time I find things to laugh at that I missed the last times I watched it.

You'd never see a movie like that made today though. After they'd get done cutting all the parts that offended this-or-that group, you'd have a "movie" maybe 20 minutes long.

you’ll get nothing, and like it!

Released 45 years ago today. Arguably the funniest movie ever made, and without a doubt the most quoted movie of all time. During the filming the script was basically scrapped and the movie became an impromptu performance by a bunch of comedians snorting cocaine and drinking booze. They most certainly don’t make movies like they did back in the day. Long live Caddyshack.

Rodney Dangerfield was hilarious in that movie. That was my last year of high school and remember how we would constantly repeat the crazy lines that Rodney had in that movie. The top ones were “Hey, loosen up, will ya? You're a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?” and "Did someone step on a duck?“ Diffinately one of the best movies ever!

I lived a block away from the Rolling Hills golf course when they made the movie

My two favorite scenes were when he ate the “turd” in the pool and loved every time the gopher came up and danced from the hole.

Non stop physical and comedic comedy topped off by " alleged" cocaine fueled autos on a mission from god with the mantra , " our lady of blessed acceleration, dont fail me now", hit songs, aretha franklyn , tv driveway party shows. What more can you ask for?

Caddyshack got poor reviews and did not do well at the box office when it first came out. The writer, Doug Kenny, got so depressed that he killed himself by jumping off a cliff in Hawaii about a month later. It was Rodney Dangerfield's first movie, and he thought his performance was poor since there wasn't a live audience out there laughing at his jokes. And the course was so brown they had to dye the grass green.
