They have had a least three Alfred Hitchcock movie festivals here in the Villages since we moved here in the Summer of 2005.

My favorite Alfred Hitchcock movie is Rear Window but there were so many of his which are very good.

Vertigo - grew up in Northern California, so very familiar with all film locations, especially the mission in San Juan Bautista.

I lived in Belmont, CA from 1984-1986 and was in Rohnert Park on-and-off from 1986 through 1996. I would often drive past the schoolhouse from The Birds on my way to Bodega Bay. Potter Schoolhouse, Bodega, CA - California Beaches

Was that when it premiered on network television in the 70's? If so I remember it well. It was a big deal. The talk of all the school kids.

The Birds (film - Wikipedia)

It premiered on NBC on January 6, 1968.

Quote:
The film's first television broadcast was in Canada on CTV television on December 30, 1967. Its subsequent U.S. appearance was on NBC television on January 6, 1968, and became the most watched film on television surpassing The Bridge on the River Kwai with a Nielsen rating of 38.9 and an audience share of 59%.[58] The record was beaten in 1972 by Love Story.[58]
