I can't seem to activate my card. Have a call into their helpdesk. Supposedly when you open the App, a window will come up asking for the card number, but I'm not getting that. I tried deleting the APP and re-installing but no luck. Anyone else have a problem with activation?

Interesting current article about MoviePass.
I've seen 9 movies in the last 6 weeks. Star Wars on Friday!

You get a Movie Pass card in your name which is like a debit card. You need to have a smartphone with the app loaded. Be near the theater (100' or so), and go to the app, the TV theater and click on the movie & time. Seconds later the app says Purchase the Ticket. Go to the box office, show your TV ID, tell them the movie/time and give them the MP card. They run it and you sign the receipt, and get your ticket. I asked a couple times if many people use MP and they say...A lot.

In the last month we saw about 9 movies - for just about the price of one ($8.50 for TV residents).

MP also had a deal a week ago that we signed up for - $69.95 for the year, which we upgraded to.

some info from the net>

The deal, put simply, goes like this: For a $9.95 monthly fee, you have the option to see up to one movie in theaters per day, every day.

The company, run by Netflix co-founder and former Redbox president Mitch Lowe, wants to be a major disrupter in the industry — think, well, Netflix. But since it was launched in 2011, the service hasn’t gained much traction and remains under-used. MoviePass is hoping this new deal changes that.It slashed its monthly pricing from as much as $50 a month to less than $10. In the process, its subscriber rolls swelled. When it sold, the company has roughly 20,000 subscribers. Now it has north of 600,000. Recently, MoviePass announced it had raised $100 million to fund operations. Even though MoviePass is operating in the red, the company believes that it will be able to monetize the data it collects on its customers or that it will drive so much foot traffic to theaters that they will give them some kind of discount.

MoviePass is trying to become the Netflix of cinema-going, but right now it seems to be more focused on building a customer base than turning a profit. The company pays theaters the full price for a ticket, so it is in essence subsidizing its users’ movie-going and losing money each time they check out a film. The average movie ticket cost $8.60 through the first three quarters of 2017. In some major cities, such as Los Angeles and New York, it sets customers back more than $10. MoviePass said its one-year subscription plan will be available only for a limited time.
If you are a Costco member they are offering the movie pass for a yearly fee of $89.99 for the entire year and it include a Fandor, too...

Please, just do us all a favor. If you get this, figure out how to use it before you get in line at the box office. Stood behind a couple at the box office window who had no idea how to use the app and while the woman selling tickets tried to help, she was clueless. 10+ minutes later, we almost missed the start of our movie.

A little help for the non tech savvy would have been a random act of kindness. It bothers me to see someone struggling with out offering to help.
Today a couple at Gordon’s had no idea how to use the pump, much less fuel the tank. A minute out of my life make someone else’s day better..

If I were the box office ticket agent I would provided appropriate assitance for 2 minutes, then have politely asked the clueless woman to step aside so other customers could make it on time for the movie. I would have then helped the clueless woman after there were no more line.

If I had been in line as a customer, I would have politely asked the clueless woman to step aside so others could make it on time for their movie.

I have been told I am rather blunt at times. Never been late to a movie though...

Tried using mine for the first time in Brownwood for Downsizing and the app would not give me the check mark only the moving symbol for working on it. I stepped aside to let others proceed and finally just purchased a ticket using cash. As I am now a retired computer store owner, I don't have to wait on .... computers to do something. I will just try again another day and be happy that working on computer is not my full time job.

hmmm, we were there for the 1:15 Downsizing movie - loong line to the ticket booths. Waited 15 min or so. Our MoviePass on our Smartphones worked perfectly and quickly outside Brownwood theater. BTW - disappointed with 'Downsizing'. Thought it would be a cute and funny movie (w/ Matt Damon) but turned into a semi-serious film quirky film, that was long and a dubious non-ending. But with MoviePass no loss...
